Harper kicked the a$$es of all three party members tonight. Jack, Iggy, and Gilles presented themselves as shrill and overdramatic while Harper was consistently calm and collect. The way he handled himself was absolutely outstanding, and this debate did not hurt him in the least.

If anything, this debate has bumped the conservatives standing.

If the Left in this Country wants to see a Liberal ruling Government anytime soon they better start working on a vision and abandon the dead wood and lunacy that surrounds them. Especially the idiots who lack the intellect to construct an argument without the shrill and rather pathetic Nazi comparisons.

What are you, one of those "black block", "anti-globalization" guys? The big bad right wingers are watching you with black helicopters? Is that it?

Speaking of offensive, how bout your avatar? Your trolling with that one and that makes you an illegitimate poster.

He handled himself like he did last time.... he ignores and pretends that nothing is wrong, that "Staying the Course" is the way to go and that so long as he continues to pretend that he never did anything wrong, everything is hunky dorey.

If anything, this debate has bumped the conservatives standing.

I doubt it.

Or vote NDP and boot both the Liberals and Cons from the top..... So long as people in this country keep thinking there's only two options to choose from in our democracy, nothing will change.

Well, I didn't see the debate but I have read the two threads about them and I find it amusing how everybody's hero kicked everybody else's hero asses. From all the insights here, I see only Jack and Gilles said anything of substance while the Libs and Cons just duked it out like little kids. Personally, I think you have to be a giant ego on Coke with to even want the job.

It should be Klingon-Style, a fight to the death using Bat'leths.
I'm Cliffy and I approve of this message.

Haters gonna hate!

That's all I got to say! Yeah I'm looking at you Prax!

*alley puts Prax in a full nelson...it looks hopeless for the rebel*

It's not hate.... I just don't get people who get offended by something said towards someone else, as if it somehow it has something to do with them, or they feel obligated to find offense as if to be some sort of hero.

It's like someone with blond hair getting on their high horse and saying they find the term "Ginger" offensive to Red Heads.

I've got red hair and I couldn't give a rats ass..... and I don't need someone else speaking up for me.

Besides, you're the one who used the flamming angry icon..... who's the one doing the Hate'n?

*Prax reaches behind and pulls Alleyz head off his shoulders and spikes it into the mat, while his body loses grip and aimlessly collapses to the ground*

To clarify I was referring to the negative post rating you gave me! Very undiplomatic!

Well I got blond hair and I am offended by the term "ginger". Someone's got to stick up for the little guys, they got recessive genes ya know, that usually means poor fighting skills. hehe, lmao ;)

Uh... I just looked back at my post to confirm that I did NOT use a flaming angry icon. Not in my post to you that is...

*alley merely has the wind knocked out of him for a second and gathers himself on the ground, thinking quickly, alley kick sweeps Prax's leg from out under him...*

The only thing more sad then a man who blindly follows his goverment into war is one who after having experienced war while that goverment Leader stayed home and got rich, will still wants to folow that goverment into yet another war !

Yawn...it was as predictable as I imagined it would be. My only disappointment was when they got on Harper about the privatization of health care and he didn't point out that Kweebeck leads the way with private clinics.

Other than that, Harper was dull, Iggy was duller, used car salesman Jack was shrill and Duceppe's mangling of the hinglish language broke up the monotony and provided the odd laugh.

I don't think Jack was shrill at all, Cannuck, if anything he was on message and actually sharp and funny, IMHO. Iggy wins the shrill award - at least for the first hour or more. Gilles was incomprehensible at times - but then I am hard of hearing. Harper was calm, collected, on message and unflappable - just the way I hoped he would be.

Ignatieff, Layton and Duceppe reminded me of the midgets snapping at Samson with jaw bones in the old movie "Samson and Delilah" starring Victor Mature.

By the way, where was André Arthur during the debate? I thought the rule was as long as you have a seat in the House you can participate, as was the case with May last election.

As it turns out, like May last election, Arthur had a representative in the House. Unlike May last election, that representative was Himself! Based on such criteria, it would seem that Arthur had every right to be in the debate.

.

There is no such rule.

The debate is a tv event negotiated between the broadcasters and main parties. There is no established rule about who gets invited. That's what the head of organizing the debate said when interviewed.

Marshall McLuhan described television as cool medium, and if you use that a guage you couldn't find anybody cooler that Harper, i mean he was almost in flatline.

Ignatieff was much more heated and animated, but imho, scored the only body blow in the debate, when he got Harper back on his heels when blasting his personal management style.. secretive, exclusive, cliquish.. with undisclosed agendas.. and a ruthless, dicatatorial attitude with subordinates and his cabinet. It completely flustered Harper, even with his icy detachment and disdain for the proceedings.

Ignatieff didn't come off much better.. intellectual, abstract, aloof, bound by the circular logic of the academic world, unconnected with concrete reality.. but he did come off better.

Leighton and Duceppe both appeared much more engaged and genuine than these two main party leaders, but of course their platforms are hopeless.

The most telling moment of the debate for me was when Harper, lauding his economic program, noted it had be 'approved' by the IMF.. and THERE.. you have the essence of his undisclosed agendas. His grovelling before the Global Investment Organism, and its running dogs in the IMF, WTO, World Bank.. to which he is a shill and quisling.

I'll be looking for a small party again this year to park my vote. I can't see supporting any of these, and especially that little twit Harper.

According to the polls, Harper made out the best.

Heads up, Sheeple:
You know who else had the gift of the gab - Hitler, that's who.
Even with a minority, Harper has already proven himself out to be the great little dictator.
Whenever OUR democratic process got in his way, he has micro managed a way around it.

If given the opportunity, him and his corp buds will make us America North.
The question is - do we really want to be American, now that the their corp takeover is turning their dream into a freakin nightmare?
Vote Harper, and find out. ( ;

I don't think there were any winners in last nights debate. They should have a series of English debates (at least 2) to really show us who these people are and what they have to offer.

It will be interesting to see how the parties spin the content from the debate. Get ready for some sweet (not) TV ads!

Ridiculous un-related video I came across:

Black helicopters? Get real.... If Big Brother wants to go incognito, the chopper will be lime green with a hot pink #6 slapped on.

What's wrong with a Hindu religious symbol attached to a Conservative tag? Didn't Harpo want to attract the ethnic vote?
