the world didn't end. Christians to be fair don't all think like the great mathematician who
made his prediction. In fact such a prediction is not Christian at all as Christ said no one
knows the time or the hour, and I will come like a thief in the night.
I think Christ has not come back because the people of mother earth are a great sence

Doomsday is inevitable​

As the earth and the planets in addition to the sun have a birth, they must have death.
Death is the inevitable end of all material objects, whether samll or large, living or non-living.

So the Sun is now getting old, and the earth also had its long life, and will pass throught the changes that occurred in Mercury and Venus.

But Doomsday timing is unknown: the hour of Doom is unknown: when it will settle.

So when Prophet Mohammed came and told people about Doomsday which is the great and dreadful day of God that is stated by all the prophets and apostles; then some of Jews in the city of Medina said to each other: Let us go and ask Mohammed about Doomsday: when will it occur; so if he tells us about its timing, then he is a liar; but if he says: I don't know, then he may be truthful!

When they asked the Prophet, he said: I don't know: God did not inform me about its timing; but anyhow it is getting nearer and nearer;

then the Jews looked to each other and said to each other: Certainly Mohammed guessed the right answer and he was acquainted about that.

Therefore this aya 7: 187 was revealed, which denote: To God their question was not precise: did they mean: the hour of man's death, or the hour of Doomsday, or the hour when the earth will stop its spinning.
يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّي لاَ يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقْتِهَا إِلاَّ هُوَ ثَقُلَتْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ لاَ تَأْتِيكُمْ إِلاَّ بَغْتَةً يَسْأَلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِيٌّ عَنْهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ اللّهِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

(They question you [Mohammed] of the Hour: did they mean: the hour of their death, or the hour of Doomsday, or the hour when its portents will start? So God here answered them about the start of its portents when the earth will stop its axial rotation:

, when its settlement be? The word in Arabic indicates the settlement like the settlement of the mountains on the earth or like the anchoring of the ship in the port. And God answered them about the standstill of the earth from its spinning.

Say [Mohammed to these Jews]:the knowledge about it is with my Lord only;

none but He will manifest it with its time; God will acquaint the Mahdi about its portents how will they occur in details and the Mahdi will tell people about that.

it has been so tremendous in the heavens and the earth; It is serious in the sight of the people of the Earth as is it serious for the people of the planets; they are fearful of it, although some of them deny it.

only, all of a sudden will it come to you. God hid it from people to know who will believe and work righteous work, and who will disbelieve and work badly.

They ask you as if you have investigated about it. They said to each other: Mohammed have certainly investigated about it and known that God did not tell about its timing to any prophet.

Say:"The knowledge about it is with God only, but most of mankind know not."
Then Abu abd-Allah said: I have explained about it and its portents in details.

Understand that I say all these books were nothing more than books. You can believe what you want about them, but I only consider them books written by men. So it is that listing some passage from a book is like me reading something to you from a story book and expecting it to have some deeper meaning to you.

Sorry it's just a book. As far as I know, not believe, there is no such thing as an after life. No amount of saying "oh you'll be sorry cause my book says so" is going to change my mind.

Well, of course the end of the world is coming, there's no room for doubt about that. The sun won't last forever, and without the sun there's no chance that any form of life as we know it could exist on this planet. But that's many billion years in the future, and humanity will in all probability be long gone by then anyway. Most of the species that have ever lived are now extinct, and very few species last more than a few tens of millions of years, that's just the way nature operates, extinction is normal and predictable and there's no reason to think it won't happen to us too. And most days I think the planet would be better off without us.

Imagine having to publicly declare that the end of the world won't happen for a couple of thousand years; 10+ generations, so to carry on as usual - there's no money in that. Best to say that the end of the world will happen to living people. Y2K cashed in nicely.​
