I think some people have reached a new level of desperation in their need to insult those that they disagree with politically.
"When Clarence Thomas was going through his confirmation hearings the Democrats showed their true colors. Thomas dared to not kneel and grovel at the feet of Liberal Democrats and they attempted to smear him and failed miserably. It was a Clarence Thomas said..."
Actually, EagleSmack the Democrats, and especially their sainted beached whale, alcoholic, drunk chicken-livered killer Ted Kennedy revealed their true hateful self with demonizing Judge Bork, giving another word to the English language: borking.
When they did the same in colour with Judge Thomas, it was just a feather in their cap.
To Democrats, any black person, who dares to be anything but a Democrat, is a pathetic, miserable Uncle Tom.
Probably because there is a forum for BC in another section. Why the over zealous Canadian interest in The American political scene? For those that obsess in Obama's acts or lack of them, why not express your analytical views on BC's destruction lead by Gordon Campbell ?
I probably didn't take it as a slight. I just can't see the reason for bringing up a Canadian provincial political issue in an thread where the topic is American federal politics. It just seemed out-of-place to me.You missed my point probably because you took it as a personal slight. People can say what they like pro and con about " the big O " , that's our right, I just wondered why it appears to be of such great interest in here when we have our own politics to beat on or not. Have you been in the BC Forum lately. Interestingly I go to another Political Forum { American ] and the Americans are much less cynical than Canadians of their president.

No. YukonJack makes a very good observation. People should be treated as individuals, not as "blacks". The treatment of Clarence Thomas by some liberals in the U.S. (I happen myself to be an American and extreme left-winger) is atrocious. You're either drunk, or trying to set a new low.

I wouldn't call last November-January in Canada boring. The election campaign may have been boring. The coup attempt err, coalition attempt after was not.Simple answer: Canadian politics are boring whereas US politics are combative and polarizing which make for good entertainment.
That smear of her was downright dumb. I practice in the Southern District of New York, where she formerly sat. She had a rather good reputation.Race and supreme court confirmation?
Of course our forum conservative friends forgot about the Republican smear of Judge Sotomayor. But it's OK when the Republicans do it, naturally.
fine.....why the need to lock it away.....where's the "change", he has to be aware of the birth cert thingy......if it were me I'd say "fine, show it, I got nothing to hide, lets get this trivial crap behind us" ..... and I'd assume he doesnt either, so I dont see the problem.......after all, how many times do we have to show our id to "them"?Obama Born In Kenya? His Grandmother Says Yes.
I thought she had died some time ago, but not sure.
The half brother/sister were born years after him, after his father remarried, his mother divorced his father, so they cannot have been
at his birth.
His half brother is in college right now, in his twenties.
