So now Zimmerman is rich and martin is poor.It isn't so rich anymore Karrie and that is a big part of the problem. Look up the stats on who holds the most wealth in the US and it sure isn't the man on the street.

Seems to me this will be a pretty cut and dry court case. Guy took 'justice' into his own hands. He will serve time. Sounds like 2nd degree murder.

Wow that's a far cry from what was actually being said about the material wealth of our countries.Agreed; and one can only stand the boot on the neck for so long.
The argument that "our poor" are rich by the standards of some third world country doesn't hold water.
Try telling that to unemployed migrant workers, or the working poor in Van.'s lower east side. - or Toronto.
Yet we want them to believe that, as the 1% would truly be in danger of they rise up.
You folks are RICH !!! suck it up.

But, I suppose, if you support the notion that we should be shooting eachother over stuff, then you're gonna find any justification, right? (see, I can twist words too!)
As well as yer knickers................yep, can see that.
And yeah, Trayvon Martin made the choice not to lead a stalker to his house. If a 17 year old girl took a self defense class, she'd have been taught the same tactic.
Time to also recognize that Martin also made 'the choice' to assault GZ.
At some point, you'll have to consider that element and factor it into the equation
Take it to the relevant thread where it's been discussed plenty.
I suppose he could also plead self-defence, and claim that the boy "came at him." It's worked before.
knickers? Psh. What would you know about my knickers?
The point is, the statement about it being a rich country had to do with not killing one another over material goods, not with accepting our lot in life and bowing to 'the elite'.
You're sure? Why are you sure? Do you have a list of witnesses the rest of us don't know about? He certainly could if that's what happened. If it didn't happen, I am sure the prosecution should easily be able to prove that and he will still be found guilty.
People like Zimmerman, neighbourhood vigilante groups, underscore the paranoia running rampant in the US about people taking their 'stuff'. Human life and the rights of your fellow man do not matter nearly as much as 'stuff', and this is yet another sad case highlighting the issue.
If someone looks wrong, you can attack, harass, and stalk them. That's what being conditioned to fear 'them' reaps in a society. The wrong colour, the wrong political stance, the wrong religion.... fear fear fear.
