God Yes! Can we please get rid of that asshole, Paul Zed

Who's going to run for the conservatives? I haven't heard.I remember when Paul and his wife split up, and he had to buy a new house: ding, dong. "Hi, I'd like to buy your house. How much do you want for it?" "It's not actually on the market, but if we were to sell it, oh, probably $X." "Great, we have a deal, then. When can you move out?"

I haven't read through the above posts. Not sure if this has been discussed. I believe the conservative economists in Ottawa are reading some seriously ugly tea leaves for 2009, and if they ran in October 2009 like they said should be the fixed election date they'd be doing so in very poor economic times. So run now while the Liberals have a weak leader and things haven't become too ugly in the economy. At least not as bad as they will be.

You're most likely on target, but as I've already said, and I feel many will also agree...

I'm not a Harper fan (I am in Saskatchewan!) but from the current crop of potential leaders that we
have to choose from, I think he would harm us the least. Best of the worst is still the best, I guess.

I expect that Casey will be the MP here after the election. I don't even know who the Conservative candidate is, because they still haven't picked one. And further, now the national headquarters are taking over the nominations for four ridings here in NS, including Cumberland-Colchester-Musquodoboit. People are pretty happy here with the job Casey has done. I doubt they can find anyone to run against him, or even to run the campaign angainst him.

I wonder if and when they'll get arround to talking about the real issues, mass starvation and global war and economic destruction or will it just be the "tough on crime" spiel again and the perenial "global warming" oh and "carbon taxes" no Canadian election will fix what's coming down the old pipe this time, but it will distract us till Harpers got the lid screwed down tight on the state. We will be fullfledged fascists after this coronation and proud of it, thousands of young Canadians will be expended in the new theatres of conflict in the service of a capitalist monstrosity that will not step aside lightly.
