So what do you think is the biggest Bust of the Games so far. I'd vote for the Eco-Zamboni at the Speed Skating Oval. Promoted as an icon of these Green Games.. and costing several times what a regular Zamboni costs.. the electric contraption has sputtered out every time its been on the ice.

Not only does it quit, resisting all efforts to restart it, it spills noxious grease and oily water all over the track when it does so.. requiring up to an hour to resurface the ice manually.

They've brought in an old style gas Zamboni for the duration. But given the massive Prius brake system recall (brakes regenerate Hybrid engines).. and this.. having second thoughts about that eco-car you were thinking of. ;-)

Nothing has been a real big bust. The media, even including
our team 1040 radio, contacts other medias all over the
world, looking for 'controversial' stories, and nothing
else, then they report all of the crap quickly to create
a buzz.
I don't give them any credit at all.
One can find stories at all of the olympics that are
trying to create negativity, that's not hard at all.

The only thing I was dissapointed with was the statement
concerning the luger who was killed, and it was the
statement made by the International Olympic Committee,
who directly said that the young man who was killed was
at fault.
Now, I am not saying he wasn't at fault, that is probably
true, but they could have worded their statement in a
more tactful manner, because 'his' family would have
heard that, and they would not have felt very good, so
their style was poor, could have done it much better.

They could have said that there was no fault by anyone,
it is the risk of the sport, and many other winter sports,
that came into play, and it is unfortunate and sad.
They made some adjustments at that part of the course,
but that doesn't mean the course was faulty, they were
just doing the right thing.

That course was very very fast, but after thousands of
runs, there were no changes asked for by athletes or
anyone else involved, in fact the athletes love the
speed, as it makes the course more dangerous and excting
for them, and that is what they like to begin with,
no different than ski jumping, or down hill skiing, etc.
There is a fine line between having a winning time and
having a catastrophe.

Hey you have to call a spade a spade. If he was at fault, say so. It was unfortunate, but it was also a driver error. Can't hide that.

There are times when the truth is secondary and if it doesn't do anyone harm to bend it a little, then for the sake of the survivors that is what should happen. Actually who is 100% sure in this case of what the truth really is? People have to come first.

The Canadian Women's Hockey Team is HOT! They are setting records all over the place. Hayley Wickenheiser set an Olympic record for most goals scored in a single game. These ladies are fabulous.

Both the men's and women's curling teams are hot too, they are on top having won all their games so far.

There are several outstanding skaters in the men's competiton. It is going to be interesting to see who comes out with the gold medal.

GO, CANADA, GO :canada::canada:

Same to you my Canadian friends and continued success. Something tells me you will take Men's Hockey to which I know will make the Olympics extra special for all of you.
