I saw him in an interview yesterday. When asked what sort of music he listened to he responded that he used to like Classic Rock.. but after 9/11 he switched to Popular Country.. because it was more 'patriotic'.

Well that's all i needed to hear. You can't find a more insipid, commercial, phony, intellectually barren genre of music today than Country. It is inundated with boring, repetitive, uninspired music shamelessly pandering to some establishment brand of political orthodoxy.. and draws an audience of the simple and credulous.

Ted Kruz reminds me of that phrase (by Samuel Johnson) that patriotism is "the last refuge of a scoundrel". He even looks a bit like Joe McCarthy to me. I can't believe he'll go far. But then again, no one has ever gone broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people.. and Country music is by far the biggest selling brand in America today.

America would have never made it to the moon, if that idiot Diefenbaker hadn't scrapped the Avro Arrow.

Nasa plundered an immense wealth of engineering talent, educated and nurtured in the Canadian institutions and industry, when they were left unemployed. Canada's aeronautical and technological base never recovered.

BTW America is now incapable of even transporting its own astronauts to the Space Station... relying of Russian rockets instead. Another legacy of America's own version of John Diefenbaker.. that doddering old fool Ronald Reagan.

And you were just talking about the intelligence of Americans? Yikes!

Maybe you can build another robot arm.

Ah, so it's the Yanks fault you're a third-rate industrial country, and a no-rate space country?

Seems to me some just can't stand the idea of a Hispanic in power.
You mean, kinda like how Republicans hate Obama because of the colour of his skin? I think if you were honest with yourself in regards to Cruz, it is more about not wanting another idiot like Bush in the office. But then there is always Jeb.
