Pretend one of them used to have sense and the smart people in charge to know how to deal with and handle it peacefully.

Why is it that every time the MBA's get involved they tank things like that thing we build that generates power underground which only the Romanians and/or Bulgarian bought?

How about if we export dumb people back to Romania?

I wouldn't trust windows security or run anything important on windows. Its convenient to use because most people are familiar with it. I work in the IT industry as a technical trainer.

If I understand the threat, the initial foot in the door came through people surfing the web from work and volunteering their email address. Then they were sent bogus emails, and a few people clicked in the attachments installing the hacker software. Once inside the malicious code used something called "Spear Phishing" to trick people into giving additional usernames and passwords, which were then exploited to further compromise the system. This will be a huge mess to sort out because malicious code is probably hidden throughout their environment.

We may as well give the Chinese hackers admin accounts...

The Chinese eh? Some people doubt that because they see the war being stirred up by Israel. Of course they have no hackers do they.

I believe the Chinese are actively probing every country's computer systems.

While Israel has some of the world's best hackers, they lack numbers. China has legions of coders. After Tienanmen, controlling cyberspace became a national security policy. Obviously they have branched out and are looking externally rather than just inward.

Some of this is harmless intel gathering, but I'm certain another component is self defense or even potentially offensive. In most modern wars, the first attack against your adversaries computer networks, to cause destruction, loss of control and communication.

I won't be surprised if it is exactly as you say but full spectrum domination would certainly require all communications be controlled and any defense against that FSD would require the exact same control. So from that perspective where everyone has an interest in the same control, it's impossible for someone like me to determine the culprits excepting I look to those who have openly declared that goal.

What Israel has done in return was to set up government subsidized telecommunications companies which operate here in the United States. One of these companies is Amdocs, which provides billing and directory assistance for 90% of the phone companies in the USA. Amdocs' main computer center for billing is actually in Israel and allows those with access to do what intelligence agencies call "traffic analysis"; a picture of someone's activities based on a pattern of who they are calling and when.

I'm speculating, but if American politician calls his mistress with his cell phone, it probably won't take long before they are getting "advice" from AIPAC about the correct way to vote on important bills/laws concerning Israel.

It's why I suggested Israel as they do seem to have a much telecommunications central to Israel. This worries me with respect to Canada and the agreements we signed with Israel.

Right... sorry... the whole thing pissed me off. The way Ottawa works sometimes gets my goat. Do you know how may dumb people are working in Ottawa for no reason other than because they are bilingual?

Anyway... if GC were to actually get serious about secure operating systems, it would dig into openBSD... first refined by U of Waterloo, and now maintained by U of Calgary, *and* (get this) *paid* for by DARPA. (and... *Americans* use it for serious security situations... i.e. by the FBI oversight committee).

Canada has the most secure and stable open source operating system and it's ministries are too dumb to use it.
