I bet the young lady gunned down exiting an establishment over the weekend in Toronto is glad she doesn’t live in America .
I know our son who was run down by a texting driver the other week sure is grateful the asshole didn't injure him with a firearm instead.

Parkland shooting survivors say the NRA is "basically threatening" them

Both Hogg and Gonzalez, who refer to themselves as members of the "mass shooting generation," say they've received death threats in response to their efforts in launching the movement. But they aren't letting threats deter them from making progress.
"There's always been people who are going to want to harm us," Gonzalez said. "I'm not going to pretend that this like opened my eyes to a cruel and harmful world ... When it comes right down to it, we already knew that this world was going to be tough. So getting death threats like that doesn't really faze us."

"I think the problem comes in when it's people at the top of this organization that don't listen to their constituents and continue to scare people into buying more guns, creating more violence, so they can scare more people and sell more guns," he continued. "The people at the top of the NRA are no longer working for the people that are in their organization. They're working on behalf of the gun lobby."

I love the irony of this.

They're threatening these kids with death, when they've ALREADY stared death down as it came into their school.

Effin idiots.

oh I don't think there's any "basically" about it.
You're right. He's provided no evidence at all. Is there at least a police report? Anything other than merely his word it happened? Oh that's right, nobody on the left would ever lie to further an agenda. They're such an altruistic bunch.

"...stay educated for the rest of your life because the seeds of corruption are always being showed." Trying to figure out if Hogg missed a little something in his education or CBS's editing missed a typo there.

I’d say at least one million people in the streets of DC! Historic! This photo doesn’t even show the full breadth of it. Thank you Parkland students and kids everywhere. You have made it clear to the adults: “Either join us or get out of the way. We are here & we are coming.”

Lots of the people there are not kids. From the actual pics and videos I have seen most aren't. I am only basing it on the live pics I have seen from some facebook friends who attended. They are also not kids and most of the people in their pics and videos were also not kids.

That being said, I hope they had fun. I anticipate this will have equal success of Occupy Wall Street. Where is that movement now? Is Wall Street gone?

Much better turn out than at Trump's coronation.

Success of students' gun control walkout bodes well for March for Our Lives

About 3,000 schools took part in the mass walkout on Wednesday, a remarkable response to the lack of political action that, like shootings before, followed the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in Parkland, Florida, last month.

It was a huge boost for activists before the March for Our Lives on 24 March, which will see tens of thousands of students march in cities across the US.

Some students, while still demanding action on school shootings, principally greater gun control, moved the protests beyond that to other issues.

At the Academy for Young Writers high school in Spring Creek, Brooklyn, New York, students used the walkout to bring attention also to discrimination against people of color, women, and other groups.

“Our protest brings together many things and I do empathize with those in Parkland in Florida, but this is Brooklyn, East New York, and we have our own separate struggles and I wanted to advocate for that as well,” said Nathaniel Swanson, 16.

“We have policing [issues]. Discrimination in housing [and the] workforce. Gentrification is really getting bad in Brooklyn. Gun violence … these are the things that happen in our community.”

David Hogg, a shooting survivor, speaks during the school’s walkout.

3000 schools out of what? Close to a million? NOt what most people would call highly successful.

A new generation is going to carry the torch.

Our generation has failed miserably.

Most of your generation hasn't reached puberty yet.

They will be if they keep going to schools filled with lefty teachers.
It is the right that keeps defunding education.

These were all the marches in the US today. There were also marches in other countries is support. I don't think this is going away soon. The elections this fall could get really interesting.

March for Our Lives: Paul McCartney is marching for John Lennon, who died of gun violence

Paul McCartney is marching for a special reason: John Lennon.
The former Beatle told CNN Saturday that he is participating in the New York March for Our Lives rally to honor his late, former bandmate.

"One of my best friends was killed in gun violence right around here," McCartney told the news station. "So it's important to me."
Lennon was shot to death while walking home near Central Park on Dec. 8, 1980 by Mark David Chapman. Chapman, who pled guilty to second-degree murder, was sentenced to 20-years-to-life. Lennon was 40.

Yes, some of these protestors are old enough to vote and given how low the turnout in US elections usually is they could have a huge impact.
