Nevada Standoff: Government Lies… It’s Not About Turtles… It’s About Fracking

Posted on April 11, 2014 by Dean Garrison

If the situation in Nevada is to escalate into bloodshed or even the next American Revolution, it is important to understand that these 200 armed federal agents are not in Nevada to save the turtles.
The American people are not stupid. Our government cares nothing about the Desert Tortoise. There is no money in saving the turtles. However, like every foreign war in our history, if there is to be bloodshed there must be a cause of righteousness to justify it. Cliven Bundy doesn’t have weapons of mass destruction and he has not, to our knowledge, taken part in any terrorist activities.
But the land he is using does have something in common with Iraq and Afghanistan.
It is rich in resources.
The other thing Mr. Bundy has in common with the many unfortunate targets of American military intervention is that he decided to no longer participate in a system that was unjust, in his opinion. Just like those who decided to try to stray away from the Petrodollar in foreign lands, Bundy decided many years ago to stop paying the federal government’s fees for something that he felt entitled to. For this there is a consequence. You do not cross the federal government.
The constitutionality of this is debatable but Bundy is standing on the Tenth Amendment. He believes that this land belongs to Nevada and that the Federal Government has no right to collect fees for its use. People are sick and tired of the government taking more and more while delivering less and less. They are sick of the “taxation without representation” and they are sick of the intimidation of the current police state.
So is this about turtles in the eyes of the government?
Only for their useful idiots that do not know better.
And for the rest...whatever makes you sleep at night.
Natural News dropped a bombshell yesterday and I want to give you an excerpt below. Americans are smart enough to know that our government would not send 200 armed agents to protect some turtles. It is always about money or resources/assets that can be turned into money. Mike Adams reports:

He himself admits he stopped paying his grazing fees in 1993 which means he admits
the land does not actually belong to him. If that is the case the law is not in the wrong.
Its not tyranny if he hasn't payed and in the past by paying the fees he admits the land
is not his.
Now he is paying the price of his own making. Tyranny my foot he is freeloading he did
not pay the fee he used to pay up until 93. If he had paid the fees he would have legal
claim to grandfather but by non payment and refusal to pay he put himself in jeopardy

You are correct as the courts have consistently ruled he has failed to pay his taxes and has freeloaded on those grasslands. Therefore, those who oppose freeloading should be on the side of the government as taxpayers have had to foot the bill that the welfare bum Bundy has failed to pay.

By the way, the judge who ruled against Bundy is a REPUBLICAN appointed by Reagan:

Just wondering who else has realized that had the Feds stayed and the situation went to heck, they would'a been in hot water for that. But because of the situation, they backed off, and they're still in hot water for backing off?

Can't win for losing. Though personally I dislike the BLM, it was nice to see them take cattle off public lands rather than horses for once.

What do the history and politics about the judge have to do with anything?

This cowdude hasn't paid for twenty years they say. Lottsa different flavours of state and federal politicos during that time and nobody did squat. Why not?

What do CAPS have to do with anything?

I thought that might have been the angry brother that scribbled the bloggie post for the kossacks only because that dolt couldn't (didn't) spell-check 'thief'.

Nevada cattle fracas democracy in action

Cliven Bundy, a rancher in Clark County, Nevada, has been battling U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) fees for decades, culminating last week in an intense standoff between armed BLM agents, the Bundy family and dozens of protesters.

Regardless of who may be right, citizens and media spotlighting this conflict represents much needed oversight over government.

The BLM started imposing grazing fees after declaring the land habitat for federally protected tortoises. Bundy refused to pay the fees, arguing it was a states rights issue and that he was licensed to use the land since the 1870s, well before the BLM existed. Last year, a federal judge authorized impounding the cattle to pay BLM grazing fees.

Last week impounding began, culiminating on Saturday with a peaceful ending after BLMs seizure of almost 400cows.

Damn... our Feds got all dressed up in their costumes and were driven off.

It must really suck for them when people aren't intimidated.

First off it isn't taxes, it is a fee imposed by the feds. I'm quite sure he pays his taxes or the IRS would own that ranch by now and he is a cattle rancher, not a bum. If you had ever farmed anything you would know it is hard work.

Don't agree with freeloading. It is public land for public use. As long as he doesn't fence it off he has every right as a citizen of Nevada to use it. This situation is not about money anyway. It is about State's rights vs federal claim to the land. I side with Bundy here simply because I hate the sham that is your federal government. They are so far past their constitutional limits of authority not just in this situation but in everything. It is time Americans (and Canadians) made a stand against the ever-growing interference and attacks on individual freedom from the feds. You no longer have a bill of rights and all you have left of the constitution is the 1st & 2nd amendments and really only pieces of those. I urge you to look past the propaganda of a debt that was never approved by the state or citizens and see the bigger picture.

Even in ND and MT frakking the shales doesn't require punting cattle off of community pastutes. There is even frakking under Roosevelt National.

Sometimes I walk across the Town Common for a short cut....

The other day I ran around the HS track a few times...

I Hike along Battle Road (NPS Land) in Concord a few times a year...

I walk around Castle Island (Boston Parks and Rec) in South Boston all the time...

... clearly I am mooching off the system as I am not paying fees.

Fours years active service does not equal a military pension Sir. You need to do 20 before the Mast as they say before you can collect one of those.
