Am I being a hypocrite?
Not at all, you just like the music, and that's a good enough reason to do what you do. Music's rhythms and melodies speak to something pretty basic in us, you needn't accept whatever message might be embedded in it--that would be hypocritical--to appreciate that.

Sympathy for the Devil - Rolling Stones! Great song but does anybody take the words seriously (unless their mentally handicapped)? Music is a universal language. Words are vehicles for delivering the music of the voice. I used to ride with the Quesnel Christian riders because I enjoyed riding motorcycle with others. They had great B-B Ques and sang a lot of tunes, mostly gospel. It didn't make me want to do anything except tap my feet.

So by that same analogy, if I were to join a band that played satan worship music or music that promotes anarchy, I should not have to worry about the message, as long as the music suits my taste.

I don't know guys, sounds a little dubious to me. I believe the message is as important as the music. You can't play or sing a piece of music if you're whole heart is not into it. If the singer is speaking about coming home to glory, praising Jesus, asking for forgiveness, etc, etc....it's kinda hard to import that sentiment into a guitar if you don't believe the words coming out of the singers mouth. All I do is listen to the music, ignore the words but listen to the phrasing and try to apply those elements to my guitar parts. It seems to work.

Music is one of those mysterious phenomenons that seems to defy logic sometimes. It continues to evolve just like us humans, evoking emotions on all levels.

Kieth,

Out of context, your posts make no sense. How about joining some of the conversations on here and let us get to know you instead of dumping a bunch of unrelated stuff from some other sites. You are not going to reach people with that strategy.

That is part of my life and i would be suprised if anybody did understand me, The things that happened were relentless and impossible as were the people i came in to contact with, The title of the thread is spiritual warfare and i would say that was what was happening ,but please pardon my ability to explain myself better, i will try harder to make more sense in future.:p

6 of one, half dozen of the other. Has any more harm come from people that worship Satan than those that worship the god whatsisname?
A long time ago, I read the Bible. Then I read the Satanic Bible. Satisfied my curiosity about both and left it at that. I don't use either.

i do not use anology about my life and do not need any book to tell me about our creator this forum does not allow links and so my posts may seem disjointed but when those books were written a mans word was tested by the events that happened to him and if he swore by almighty God to be telling the truth you can bet he was telling the truth, in them days the priests were chosen by the people in the community and not by the establishment, unless you have a true heart you will never really believe in much of anything and will always be searching for the answer.

Funny thing is, i used to only listen to the music as well but vocal in music from a singer with heart is a revalation . if you have heart you can talk a tune like private investigations dire straights, or even tell a story like phil collins in the air tonight or put your heart and soul in to it like Alvin Lee woodstock ten years after 1969.

Those who have found the answer have sealed their minds to greater possibilities. Life is about learning and growing. To believe something is true without question is to put on blinders, to stagnate in a sea of knowledge.

Read some of Roger Zelazny's books. Cannot quite remember which ones at the moment... in any case, sympathy for the devil is a recurrent theme in some of his books. You can see it in some of what I say too, in that I think that god is accused of far worse than the devil, so why worship the one and curse the other?

If the message means something to you, then eventually you will have to move on. I listen to Electro music, there are no real lyrics, and no real meaning--just good beats and amazing created sounds. Although some(most?) would disagree.

.

I am in a body of flesh living in a world of lies, i have never cursed or blamed the devil for any of the extreme bad things that happened in certain areas of my life and have simply put all the pieces together and can now see why they had to happen. i used to love science fiction with a lesser known writer BOB SHAW caused me many a sleepless night because i had to see what happened at the end and that is when i was a child. if you look and see why bob wrote as he did it would be a big clue as to why i now can see clearly what others cannot.

My spirit really was on fire today! I engaged in battle with Satan at a high intensity level, and told him that he has no ground in my loved one's life. His powers are bound, and he cannot tempt, suggest, influence or harm my loved one. I have authority in Christ's name! So take that Satan! Get under my feet!

Thank you lord for using me as an instrument to fulfill your kingdom. Use me to defeat the occult, unbelief, disease and the enemy, in Jesus name I pray! Amen!

Spiritual warfare, as is my personal observation, which is the main tool of science I might add, truly does exist. The spiritual journey I have experienced lately has given me new found strength, wisdom, energy, and way of thinking I never knew existed.

I'm grateful that I'm spirit filled and that the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are within me! They literally are within my spirit! How can I possibly be defeated? I truly feel for anyone who does not have this.

So, is it the avatar, or the above statement that is sarcastic?

I listen to a lot of stuff I don't agree with. I happen to like a lot of classical music, and a lot of it is highly religious. I don't have to agree with it, but I can enjoy the spirit in which it was written and played. I also like a little of the AfroAmerican spiritualist music. It's neat. I am still stuck on being atheist or anti-theist.

Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner. I'm sorry for sinning against you. Thank you for allowing me to draw strength from you. Thank you Jesus for defeating sin for me.

When I signed up for this spiritual war, I was expecting to be witnessing to Satanists and witches while they do their black magick. But you gotta lead yourself before you can lead others. So right now, the war is over me. Satan - get under my feet! Tempt me no more and flee from me!

Satan is a personification of an aspect of you that you do not want to take responsibility for. You believe those thoughts, those urges are evil, dis approved by your god, but is you, your human nature. but, as Lenny Bruce once said, "If you believe god created you, and there are things that you can do with your body that are sinful, then the fault lies with the manufacturer."

There is no sin knucklehead!!! Its all in your head.
