New Pro-Obamacare Ad Features Trump Voter

A campaign encouraging lawmakers not to repeal the Affordable Care Act will launch two new television ads, with one featuring a man who voted for President Donald Trump.

The ads are part of a “six figure” ad buy from the “Save My Care” campaign that will run in Ohio and Tennessee, according to an advance copy of the press release announcing the ads. Tennessee is home to Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Chairman Lamar Alexander, a key player in the Obamacare debate.

“I’m a Republican. I voted for Trump,” says a man identified as Dennis, who is featured in the Tennessee ad. He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and says in the ad, “The Affordable Care Act saved my life."

The ad running in Ohio features a woman named Paula, who was diagnosed with breast cancer, which spread to her brain and liver. According to the press release, the Medicaid expansion in Ohio under the Affordable Care Act helps her afford her cancer treatment.

Hospitals come out against GOP healthcare bill

The American Hospital Association announced Tuesday its opposition to the GOP's healthcare reform plan.

The hospital association is the first health industry group to expressly come out against the legislation, dubbed the American Health Care Act, which House GOP leadership unveiled on Monday.

“We ask Congress to protect our patients, and find ways to maintain coverage for as many Americans as possible,” Richard Pollack, the president and CEO of the American Hospital Association, wrote in a letter to House Republicans.

“We look forward to continuing to work with the Congress and the Administration on (Affordable Care Act) ACA reform, but we cannot support The American Health Care Act in its current form,” he said.

Dear Clifford

I'd bet my left nut you were born in a Catholic hospital.

If you were an American, they would have done your bypass surgeries for free.

Even though you turned your back on the Church it'll never turn it's back on you.

Signed,
Jesus H Christ

It's still owned and operated by the Church.

St. Paul's Hospital (Vancouver) St. Paul's Hospital is an acute care hospital located in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is the oldest of the seven health care facilities operated by Providence Health Care, a Roman Catholic faith-based care provider.

Outrage over $400 million tax break for insurance executives under GOP Obamacare replacement plan

Democrats on Wednesday broadly blasted a proposed Obamacare replacement bill after learning the federal government would lose about $400 million in lost tax revenue over the next decade due to a sweet break for health insurers.

Rep. Sander Levin, D-Mich., said that the tax break related to executive pay underscores the fact that the Republican replacement bill is "the beginning of a huge giveaway to the very, very wealthy," and the end of insurance coverage to millions of lower-income people.

"We're starting off... with essentially a giveaway to insurance executives," Levin said.

The proposed tax break, buried in cryptic language in the Republican plan, would allow health insurers to more fully deduct the value of their executives' compensation on their taxes. That compensation can be as high as tens of millions of dollars, in the case of CEOs of insurers.

I was born in the Verdun General Hospital. As far as I know, it was secular but I don't think it still exists. I was sent to St. Pauls in '96 when I had my heart attack but I refused triple bypass surgery. I've never had surgery.
