1) While you deny the aborted daughter the right to LIVE....full stop.
2) And law never trumps morality, except for the amoral or the weak-minded.
Damn, I didn't want to get pulled into a debate on abortion.....I avoid the subject like the plague.......
But it seems unavoidable.......so here is my position. The current lack of an abortion law in Canada is atrocious.....I do not believe such a thing exists (or does not exist) in any other country on earth. The law allows abortion at a point where the child could survive outside the mother's body with minimal aid..........and that is indefensible IMHO.
The compromise would be a law that permits early abortion, but restricts access as the pregnancy progresses........that is the only sane solution.
I agree with you.
Go back early enough its just a sperm and and egg. At the moment of conception, the single cell is a living human being and according to the law, not a person with charter rights. As the cell divides and grows, the human being should gain rights. By the time they can live on their own with minimal aid would seem to be a reasonable threshold to become a fully charter protected person.. So I disagree with the current law too.
This woman isn't exercising her right to free speech. She's using the guise of free speech to interfere in the right of another women to seek a legal medical procedure. It doesn't matter whether its an abortion or treatment for a heart attack... This women should face criminal prosecution if she interferes with the right of others to harassment free health care. If this woman was allowed to subvert the law by getting in people's faces, violating their privacy, verbally abusing them, physically interfering in any way... then she'd be joined by growing numbers who share her opinion. Sufficient harassment would drive abortions back to alleyways and coat hangers, if abortions became impractical/impossible...
I support this lady's right to fight to change the law. But she has no right to deliberately piss on other people's boots. If she steps inside the zone, I support her arrest.
