Do we really want to get the lid off that can of worms, Cliff? If the human animal was to disappear altogether there's not much doubt the planet would be better off. How can a specy with such a highly developed brain be so stupid?:lol:
Only a species with high intelligence can come to the conclusion that they're stupid, otherwise, what would they use to compare?
We're not the greatest thing to come to this planet, but we're not completely separate from the rest of this planet either..... and we have our own roles to play on this planet, just like every other animal species..... the only difference is that some like to focus on all the bad things we do and ignore everything else.
Hell, locust do plenty of bad things to the planet too, depending on how one looks at it, but they also do good as well.
Some people would suggest fires, or even forest fires are evil and bad.... serve no purpose, etc.
If humanity died off the planet tomorrow, would the earth continue one without us?
Yup.
The Earth would continue on without a few other animals species as well. Many animals go extinct.... it's happened many times in the past, it's happening today.... it will continue to happen in the future.
Animals die off and new ones take their place... that's all our existence consists of when we boil it right down..... Live, Reproduce, Die.... sometimes the reproduction aspect isn't applied and some things Live, then Die.
But it would seem some have this issue of trying to keep the planet exactly as it is.... every species needs to survive, we have to protect and save everything, or else the world we know won't exist.
The "World We Know" is supposed to be an ever-changing World, not some planet wrapped up in a big plastic bubble, locked in stasis forever, just because someone things nothing should ever die.
We shouldn't have abortions, every fetus should be born, raised and able to spawn more humans.... and so on and so forth.... even though the human population is already over 6.8 billion and people are already worried about over population and lack of resources.
You can't have it both ways and there must be balance.
