I think it's cute that the US thinks it has ANY power in North Korea. They can huff and puff all they want and there's nothing they can really do. I don't know if people realize this, but the two journalists COULD have been executed. North Korea would have had every right to do so, but they didn't. It's purely political posturing. Everybody seems to forget that North Korea is a communist country with its OWN LAWS and gov't system, that doesn't reflect the same values, and system as our own. Once you leave your own soil, especially to a communist nation, you potentially could be S.O.L..

What do they say? You play with the bull you get the horns, something like that?
They knew what they were doing what illegal in North Korea and so like Marc Emery, they can enjoy the company of the North Korean penal system until the US coughs up a trade of some kind.

After all there isn't anything wrong with arresting people because they point out the nasty things you do and make you look bad, is there? ;-)

Maybe they can swap the girls for Marc Emery. He'd benefit from 12-years of re-education. At the same time he could create a new mail-order industry for NK.

North Korean bud - has a ring to it.

Great day to you Kreskin, Kim J IL and his arss lickers are a bad example of humanity and a waist of human flesh.

Emery has allot more class and is allot more smarter then you think. The Korean pathetic dictators ARE USING the girls for extortion and as free citizens of this planet should be freed by the US soon. Bottom line here is that the loser KIM J IL IS A PATHETIC INSECURE MISFIT.

As a teenager in Communist Hungary, I saw people coming back from forced labour camps. One was my uncle.

I feel the greatest sympathy for these young reporters, and my hate for anything Communist has been once again reinforced.

That's a hell of an idea- he could use a little attitude adjustment.

Easy with the friendly fire JLM, how about rounding up gangs one at a time and sending them one by one there to correct their attitude that is a better thought.

In addition, a far better idea would be, sending a world coalition to dismantle the nuclear warheads this misfit has in his possession.

That would make a better movie then Emery getting tortured because you have a phobia about pot, don’t take it the wrong way here, but where is logic suggesting to send a Canadian in a stupid place politically like NK.......humor? Not good....................and besides Emery is off topic he is not a reporter he is a pot activist, where is the connection?

Obviously you need to get a couple of things straight, one I have no phobia about pot, what would prompt that stupid remark? Second, my suggestion in no way precluded any of yours, so what's the problem? I just happen to think that people who deliberately and continuous break the law could use an attitude adjustment- who in their right mind would argue with that?

Look no Canadian for selling seeds to Americans deserves to be tortured, if you have no phobia about pot I am not sure how Emery is a person who deserves to be treated with torture.

America is in a worst violation against Canada by the mass weapon smuggling into Canada from the US in the trillions of $$$$$$$$$$$$.

I find it harsh that Emery is a rock in anybody’s shoe except the Feds who did not receive their due taxes on the sale of the seeds. At the same time US is out huge IN $$$$$$$$ from the sale of ARMS TO CANADA and because is organized crime they would have to prosecute thousands, costly and never ending, so.....................Emery made money with out pointing machine guns at any one.

JLM we are all friends here…………………

This case would be similar to Marc Emery's if these women violated NK law while living in the US and the US extradited these women to NK.

If its true that NK abducted these women from China, then the case would be similar if US authorities snuck into Canada and abducted Emery.

But if your point was that neither these women or Emery committed a serious crime and that their punishment is unduly harsh, then yes I would agree.

Crossing my fingers for those reporters, what a scary situation to find yourself in. Something needs to be done to stop what's happening in North Korea!
