Self-deception is the child of ignorance.

So how much and what have the people of the United States gotten for their three TRILLION dollars of support for Israel?

Do you have any idea how many bridges that could have built? Do you have any idea how much healthcare and eductation Americans could have gotten for that three TRILLION dollars?

You've been duped into believing that sending billions upon billions of dollars to Israel will buy what ? Peace in the Middle East? A "foothold" for America's appetite for petroleum?

We haven't been merely duped, we've been deluded through a constant barrage of baseless senseless argument peddling emotional blackmail as "responsibility"....

America is getting exactly what it deserves from 9/11 to California Flambe.

When will the American people stand up for themselves?

Canadians are so thick it's unlikely to happen north of 49 at all anyway so why bother asking?

LOL Tonington

I am sorry I fixed the offending mis-spelling - let's pretend it was a Freudian slip - and you are the Manking!!! YAY.....

Sounds good to me!

Yes, shadowshiv, no mankind wrestler for me! I couldn't imagine keeping a physique like that, or acting like that! I'm much more regal;)

No one seems prepared to accept the facts. Policies that have appeased big business and satisfied some dim-witted sense of altruism are catching up to the human species.

I suppose it's consonant with the willing ignorance of postmodern mentality to deny deny deny and when the ca-ca hits the fan...then we'll all look around for someone to blame....

What an unevolved species humankind turns out to be!

Mikey... you write:

America is getting exactly what it deserves from 9/11 to California Flambe.

I find that sentence offensive - agree you have every right to write it here - and cannot comprehend
why you find it to be a factual statement.

I won't answer your response. Say what you wish in rebuttal. Or not - it matters little to me.

........ Now I would like to invite you , to tell me what You think are the essentials that human requires, in order to survive (survive what?).

Well now - that's a different question altogether than the OP, and one that has no wrong answer as far as I'm concerned.

You said: (survive what?) and the answer to that part of your question I suspect is going to have a good deal of influence on the entirety of anyone's answer. But first, how do you want to define "survive"? If it's the simple continuation of life in a physical body, then I suppose you could indeed get away with suggesting food, shelter and clothing are all that's needed. To my mind though, that barely meets the criteria for survival. Survival should encompass an element of happiness or self-fulfillment - but again, that is such a subjective concept that one could elicit a host of definitions, and imo, all would be correct - for each individual answering.

My definition of survival (fulfillment) would need to include the aspects I mentioned in my earlier post regarding the symbiotic benefits of societal/communal/familial influence. I see these benefits as magnified through reciprocity - thus, the more I contribute the more I benefit.

I'm also a big believer in the idea of relativity - in that without my fellow man surrounding me, reflecting my actions and reactions, I am no more than an island, adrift and aimless. I think this may fly in the face of what you believe, but I cannot fathom having a means to create a unique identity if it were not for the palette of humanity that allows us to experience and choose who and what we will be in relation to what surrounds us.

China, the more I think on this subject, the more I realize that not only is every answer you get to that question correct, but the number of variations on this theme I could personally come up with would take up far more than my lunch hour allows me to reflect upon.

........ thank you though, it's always nice to have one's reflective processes prodded into wakefulness every now and again. ;-)

I am willing to accept that as a fact. Few people seem to want to talk about the evils of corporate governance and how we the people have lost our way. It is policy that has brought much of the destruction that's happened to America upon itself.

Not only Americans but everyone under this form of government pandering to corporations above the public. No argument on that from me.

But I wouldn't classify the whole human race that way. There are obviously those who feel that is wrong as you do, but they aren't holding the tiller at the moment. Finding the key to bring about that little change is doing something.

I used to. I was just saying I'm more like William Regal than Mankind/Cactus Jack/Dude Love.

When I was in grade 7, I came home with a mohawk hairstyle. The guys on my basketball team started calling me Tatanka, partly because of the hair, partly because the similarity to my last name.

I think Tonington sounds kind of regal, doesn't it?;)

Lord China - no wonder you sounded out of sorts.... moving is one of the most hateful things we do willingly when I think we are meant to put down roots and stay in one place - we wanderers of the earth.

I hope you are in an area away from factories and lead product ... I keep seeing articles and documentaries on the lead content of the crops grown irrigated from some of the contaminated rivers in China... but no doubt you are fully aware of that with a new baby...

Zuo ge mei meng China... back to the butterflies and flowers.... return refreshed and relaxed....Curio

Sal ,

Those do not even meet ones basic needs. I see Maslows as more definite.
These are Maslows basic needs I found on the web ,they are listed in order of importance. As you can see that includes the three 'needs' I've placed in my post. Your statement ......"Those do not even meet ones basic needs."and that Maslows more definite ,makes no sense,it's there just for the sake of disagreement, childish , no class.

Maslow's no.1 basic need refers to breathing/oxygen,obviously very important,we begin to breath in our mothers womb where we also have the three "needs" I have mentioned..Agree ,breathing is essential, without the breathing we would be DEAD.

And that's the point Sal,If one is dead ,he/she doesn't care about sex ,prestige ,dominance or personal growth.

Just for your info. my post is aimed at a living and breathing forum audience .Hope your one of us.

1. Biological and Physiological needs - air, food, drink, shelter, warmth, sex, sleep, etc.
2. Safety needs - protection from elements, security, order, law, limits, stability, etc.
3. Belongingness and Love needs - work group, family, affection, relationships, etc.
4. Esteem needs - self-esteem, achievement, mastery, independence, status, dominance, prestige, managerial responsibility, etc.
5. Self-Actualization needs - realising personal potential, self-fulfillment, seeking personal growth and peak experiences.

This is the definitive and original Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. While Maslow referred to various additional aspects of motivation, he only expressed the Hierarchy of Needs in these five clear stages.

Shadowshiv sounds kind of dark...and a bit menacing, but in that good way..you know? the kind of menacing that makes the ladies swoon and think maybe they can make you not so evil. Maybe dark like a dark elf. Like RA Salvatores character Drizzt D'Ourdan (sp?)

Hello s_lone ,
I have asked you ..."what is Love" but you have not answered me.That,s all right
To me 'love ' ,is a word , and a word "is not the thing".It may represent 'God' (also just a word) and/or sex or whatever .Words ( or combination of words) are
NOT THE THING ,but you already knew that.Perhaps this is why there are so many different interpretations regarding my original post.Thats all .

So China is saying in order to actually survive all you need are food clothing and shelter. That is true. It is all we need.

BUT he throws a twist into the equation when he adds....everything beyond those 3 things are the beginning of self-deception.

I don't agree with that part of the equation. And so thus for me it invalidates his first sentence.

Sal, I want to be polite on this forum so all I will say is ...grow up.
