:lol:it sounds good

Get a Canada goose parka,if by chance you do freeze to death with one on there is a convenient handle sewn into the back so a chopper has something to hook on to and lift your frozen body off the ice.

I've worked for weeks in -60 and 70 outside and even a record -80 but thats with windchill. If I didnt experience it myself I wouldnt think it could be done but it wasnt bad at all.I had my fur aviator hat and facemasks and goggles,no exposed skin anywhere.

I had no choice as I was plunked down 60 miles south of the Arctic circle and once the ground blizzard moved in there was no way out.You spent your days rolling 45 gallon drums of fuel to each tent, fixing diesel gravity heaters in tents and patrolling the big generators to make sure they were fueled and still running.

I might be going to shanauvan or something like that in Sask next week,no work here in Alberta,Sask is starting to boom and should only get better.

Bet he would be royally offended on his next shopping trip to the States, if Americans felt the same way about him.

Try and figure out how to quote someone because it's hard to tell if your just arguing with yourself or what.

It's not that hard bud,I can walk you through it if you want.

cockatoo, I used the quote feature and I came to the conclusion that it was put there by the designers to accomodate simpletons who can not breath and fart at the same time.

When I quote someone, I say whom I quote. Then I use quote marks (") to enclose the words of the person I am quoting.

That was the way it was always done before high tech crutches like the quote feature here was developed to help the feeble minded.

BTW, when are you going to the States?

I remember seeing -54 degrees F on the OAT (outside air termperature) guage on my Cessna 185 in February in the late 80's in Northern Manitoba. I flew the thing around for three weeks where it didn't register oil pressure because the lines congealed. There wasn't a weather station close by so we didn't set the record that year, but we would have. My whiskey froze solid, and my gin actually broke the bottle, made for one massive ice cube.

The environment canada web site has all the temps from remote sites right back to the 50's,it's kinda "cool" to go back that far when it's really freaking cold out and see if you set a record.

I allways flew over Manitoba on the way to work and landed in Churchill and Thompson for a change of planes, the tragically hip song was allways in my mind(Thompson girl) but when flying with calmair you needed a distraction.

None of my booze froze but It wasnt watered down and when it it -80 I didnt have any left but I do remember pepsis exploding all through the nite in my tent.
Boots froze to the wood floor, beard froze to the side of the tent....no way out.8O

My mom,dad and bro are pilots,we had a piper 180 low wing at one time named JLS,good times hitting all the fly in's all over Canada and the USA.

Ma got her licence at the age of 35 and became an instructor, commercial pilot and bush pilot.
She taught most of the air cadets around here for years and then her boyfriend who was also an instructor died in a plane crash doing canyon turns and she never flew again after that.:-(

I still get the odd turn on the stick of a single otter.;-)
and the odd longranger.

Good morning all its 8 am here and a fine morning nice and sunny. my wifes been looking into the area of saskatoon and the premises there ,she likes what she sees and is desperate to move to canada. We live in a nice semi rural area the typical 2.4 family ,my girls have horses and love being around them ,both eventually want to work with them ,my youngest wants to be a farrier and the oldest to be a horse dentist. Its nice to get the advice from people out there i suppose if you were to look at some of the areas in England youd think they were beautiful but they have their problems as well .There are lots of no go areas around the country ,lots of gangs involving youths ,who regularly stab or shoot each other over something or nothing .I know this goes on the world over and every contry has its problems ,but weve had enough .As long as i can find employment and support my family im ready to embrace the Canadian way of life .As for the weather that sounds really cold ,how do people go about their daily buisness in such extreme temperatures ,or is it just something that youre accustomed to .Weve looked at the Burlington Edmonton areas because weve been advised that there is a requirement for my line of work ,i wouldnt want to come to Canada as a immigrant and take the work from a Canadian tradesman ,i hope theres enough to go around ,your immigration states that there a shortage of tradesmen /women .Both my kids want to go to Canada theyve also had enough here ,they ae the most precious thing to me ,and i want a better life for them .Hope its the right move, im sure it will be ,its a long process but i think it will be woronce again thanks for comments .ps it only manages to get to about -10 here and thats on a bad day it averages about -3 as they say around here thats barbacue weather in Queensbury .Cheers and once again thanks for the comments ,Dave

Dave, have you considered living outside Saskatoon in one of the smaller towns? You mention your girls have horses. What about a small farm? Real estate prices in small towns are a bit more reasonable than those in S'toon.
