When it's that cold, spit bounces. It freezes in the air between your mouth and the
ground. Ok...it doesn't exactly bounce...but it skips along as it rolls...really.8O

Good morning all its 8 am here and a fine morning nice and sunny. my wifes been looking into the area of saskatoon and the premises there ,she likes what she sees and is desperate to move to canada. We live in a nice semi rural area the typical 2.4 family ,my girls have horses and love being around them ,both eventually want to work with them ,my youngest wants to be a farrier and the oldest to be a horse dentist. Its nice to get the advice from people out there i suppose if you were to look at some of the areas in England youd think they were beautiful but they have their problems as well .There are lots of no go areas around the country ,lots of gangs involving youths ,who regularly stab or shoot each other over something or nothing .I know this goes on the world over and every contry has its problems ,but weve had enough .As long as i can find employment and support my family im ready to embrace the Canadian way of life .As for the weather that sounds really cold ,how do people go about their daily buisness in such extreme temperatures ,or is it just something that youre accustomed to .Weve looked at the Burlington Edmonton areas because weve been advised that there is a requirement for my line of work ,i wouldnt want to come to Canada as a immigrant and take the work from a Canadian tradesman ,i hope theres enough to go around ,your immigration states that there a shortage of tradesmen /women .Both my kids want to go to Canada theyve also had enough here ,they ae the most precious thing to me ,and i want a better life for them .Hope its the right move, im sure it will be ,its a long process but i think it will be woronce again thanks for comments .ps it only manages to get to about -10 here and thats on a bad day it averages about -3 as they say around here thats barbacue weather in Queensbury .Cheers and once again thanks for the comments ,Dave

I've been told that it's soooo cold in Saskatoon that Shania Twain covers here midsection when she visits.

I've been told that it's soooo cold in Saskatoon that you have to chisel dogs off of fire hydrants

I've been told that it's soooo cold in Saskatoon that the local flasher got caught describing himself to women

I've been told that it's soooo cold in Saskatoon that you light a candle and the flame freezes

I've been told that it's soooo cold in Saskatoon that the hookers downtown charge $20 just to blow on your hands.

the weather

As for the weather that sounds really cold ,how do people go about their daily buisness in such extreme temperatures ,or is it just something that youre accustomed to .

You go outside only when you have to, and you wear a ton of clothes when you do.
it sounds good

OK, but what is Saskatoon really like? My daughter is considering going to university there.
U of S is a fantastic school. She'll have a blast a get a good education too. I did a 6 year stint there and enjoyed it.

Past Dundurn you see more bush. Further north you see more trees. Past La Ronge
(Like Grandmothers Bay) you enter the Canadian Shield.
Dunwhat?

Ron going East / North East the bush starts just past Pilot Butte and ends at the tundra or Hudson's Bay going the opposite direct from is the northern end of the great American desert some 70km or so past the tree.

I was in Saskatoon one time and if my thermometer was an inch longer I would have froze to death.

I chopped up a piano for firewood but only got two chords.

It was so cold, Paris Hilton wore clothes.

All I know is this: Construction workers will get LOTS of jobs during the warm seasons... Not sure about carpenters... However there are 2 new communities being built now. Stonebridge and Willowgrove. I'm sure you could get a job there. It's cold as hell though, sometimes. We had a storm in 2007 that killed people...
