There's a reason for that, Petros. B.C.'s climate is a "drawing card" for layabouts and the few that do get motivated just save it to stir up sh*t at protests!
Speak for your area of the province, JLM - not mine. Lay-abouts do exist in the Heartland but most don't last long up here especially if they came for the climate which unlike the area that you live in, can mirror that of their own province. The ecological diversity of this province is one of the reasons that I do love it.
As for lay-abouts, they really are few and far between in such a rural area. Out of all the folks I know around here who are either working or retired, there is only one fellow who relies on social programs. He, however, is disabled and does what he can to help other people in the area. He is a great dad and grandpa and a good person. Willy's Puddle on the other hand, is probably home to more than a few.
