If Rush Limbaugh is a Racist, Are His 20 Million Listeners Also?

By Lloyd Marcus

I have been a faithful Rush Limbaugh radio show listener for almost 20 years. I have never heard Rush make one racist comment. As a matter of fact, I am a black man who has been inspired and encouraged by Rush on numerous occasions. Rush is part of a partnership bidding to purchase an NFL football team. I am highly offended watching the liberal media's all out assault on this great American. In their efforts to block Rush from ownership of a team, the liberal media and the Left are attempting to brand Rush as a racist.

The media's charges of racism against Rush are totally based on supposed "racist quotes" which cannot be documented and comments knowingly taken out of context from his radio show. As a member of Rush's weekly 20 million listening audience, I take the assault on him personally. If Rush is a racist, then isn't it logical to assume that we, his listeners, are equally guilty for tolerating his racism? Obviously, Rush's accusers have never listened to his radio show or else have an agenda. It is truly disheartening and infuriating to witness the media's frenzied character assassination of Rush built on falsehoods and hearsay without one shred of evidence. Knowing the truth about Rush, how can I possibly trust any reporting by the mainstream media?

Adding insult to injury, Rev. Al Sharpton, considered to be a respected spokesperson for the black community by the liberal media has weighed in with his opposition to Rush being allowed to own a team. Given Sharpton's role in the Tawana Brawley scam, it is truly amazing that he is considered a credible representative of the black community... talk about Bizarro World. How dare this characterless con man pass judgment on Rush!

Beyond Rush, the larger issue is the tyrannous yoke political correctness has on our society and the swift punishment delivered with an iron fist by its enforcers, the liberal biased media. Rush's true crime is boldly speaking the truth about several of the liberal media's sacred cows, challenging their premises and opposing their far left agenda.

For example, the NAACP, a sacred cow of the Left, is without question a liberal partisan organization. Rush, a white guy, stated this truth out loud, thus violating rule number one on the media's politically correct list of do's and don'ts. "Whites under no circumstances are permitted to publicly criticize blacks." Offenders are verbally flogged within an inch of their lives and branded with a virtual "R" on their forehead for racist.

The liberal media has no problem with throwing Rush's 20 million listeners along with Rush under their "you're a racist" bus. They are relentless in protecting their sacred cows and are willing to sacrifice and impugn all. Take their sacred cow ObamaCare, outrageously, the liberal media calls the over 50% of Americans who oppose it racists. When their married president Bill Clinton had sex with an intern, the liberal media told us that every man in America, fathers, clergy, coaches and whomever would behave as Clinton did if given the opportunity. To defend Clinton, the liberal media sacrificed the morals and character of all men. In essence proclaiming, "All men are dogs".

Remember what the liberal media did to a young beauty pageant contestant who shyly gave a politically incorrect response when asked about gay marriage, another of their sacred cows? Miss California, Carrie Prejean was vilified.

While I stand beside my hero, Rush Limbaugh, as I stated earlier there is a much larger issue at stake extremely threatening to our freedom, liberty and culture. We cannot trust the mainstream media. We are at war; liberal media's and the Left's Political Correctness versus the Freedom and Free Speech of the America people. Our enemy's mission is to silence all dissent. We serfs must worship their sacred cows or suffer the consequences.

The liberal media and the Left have been attempting to silence Rush and other conservatives for years. Make no mistake about it, their latest bogus "Rush is a racist" campaign is another stealth attack on our freedom of speech. It is extremely important that lovers of freedom rally around Rush Limbaugh. Silencing Rush would be a major victory in their quest to silence and control us all.

A couple of points about this article by a supposedly black man (we have only his word that he is black, he could very well be white pretending to be black).

The liberal media has no problem with throwing Rush's 20 million listeners

Only 20 million listeners? I am surprised, what this means is that not even all of Republican base listens to Rush ‘drug addict’ Limbaugh. I had this vision of every member of the Republican base eagerly anticipating the start of the show, glued to his radio set when the show is about to start, his tongue hanging out, desperate for his daily fix of Limbaugh.

But apparently not, not even all of Republican base listens to the blowhard.

While I stand beside my hero, Rush Limbaugh,

He said it, his followers; the dittoheads are into hero worship. In their eyes, their hero can do no wrong. This is a child like faith in their Messiah.

The same faith they have in Joan of Arc, incidentally. Right is into hero worship, big time.

When Rush claimed McNabb was a QB because of his race I didn't watch the fall out on liberal news. I watched in on NFL broadcasts and sports talk channels. Plus I heard it with my own ears and based my judgement on how I interpreted the tirade, not how so-called liberal news media saw it. I wish you guys would knock off the liberal media baloney.

Oh, I see how this works. One black man listens to Rush regularly, therefore the things Rush says cannot be racist...

Do people even understand what logic is these days?

The NFL owners don't have to approve the bid which includes Rush. It's their league. He caused uproar before. They don't want that train wreck. If he doesn't like it, tough. Quit your whining Rush, and Rush fanboys. That's you Walter and YukonJack.

Yeah, blame the liberal media. Typical nonsense when the so-called conservatives get their sensibilities offended.

Here's five reasons why they don't want him:

  1. I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.
  2. You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.
  3. Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.
  4. They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?
  5. Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).
All quotes from Rush. Best o luck douche bag...
Got a credible link. I know that 1 and 2 are false accusations, quotes never made by Limbaugh.

You mean Rush is being swiftboated by someone? Well it couldn't happen to a more deserving person. So 1, and 2 are out, but 3,4, and 5 are good, as is the other quote I posted of him equating Obama's Whitehouse to allowing black kids to beat up white kids.

Defend the douche bag all you want Walter, he's still a douche bag, who has a history of stirring exactly this kind of controversy.

So if the NFL doesn't want him, well too F'n bad.

It goes to show you just how lucrative dumbing down the American public with a lot of neoconservative nonsense is. NFL teams, even in relatively small markets like St. Louis, are valued at something well above $500 million now.

I know it won't go anywhere. The NFL is just too cognizant of its public image and it knows Rush's '20' million listeners per week, many or most repeat 'ditto heads', is no match for the people who would be offended by the sale.

As for Rush's attitudes to blacks. I used to listen to Limbaugh's show now and again in the 90s, and even being conservative myself, saw a pattern of demeaning characterizations of black people.

It was so natural and reflexive for Rush, i doubt he knew he was saying anything offensive, nor did his audience. But the broad brush slights were there. It was like going back to black characters is 30's Hollywood films.

Nah. I don't agree with that at all. He sure sounds like a racist at times.

Can Liberals be racist?

Agreed. The NFL Franchise owners do not need to vote him in and it would not be a bright idea if they did.

He should stick to talk radio.

But WOW... he sure made a lot of money if he is even able to bid on an NFL team. I had no idea he was worth that much.

Ditto.

Absolutely.

The NFL is the best managed league in pro sports. They know what they're doing.

He should stick to talk radio.

It's what he does best.

But WOW... he sure made a lot of money if he is even able to bid on an NFL team. I had no idea he was worth that much.

I wonder what percentage of the bid is his? I'm sure he gets paid well for drawing the crowd he does.

Just looked this up...

In 1999 the Houston Texans cost 700 Million.

The Redskins were purchased for 800 Million but that included the stadium.

That's a lot of money.

NFL's Double Standard: Dump Rush but Court Sleazy Pop Singer's Ownership Bid

By Ken Shepherd

October 14, 2009
"How can the NFL overlook the a sleazy pop diva's questionable background while holding Limbaugh accountable for comments he's never made," wondered Brian Maloney in a Radio Equalizer blog post yesterday.
While the NFL is presenting itself as merely gun-shy of the controversy Rush Limbaugh would bring to the ownership table, it hardly seems worried about the controversy that a saucy pop star's ownership bid would bring.
Maloney explains, pointing out a double standard between the NFL commissioner scrabbling to denounce Limbaugh while practically encouraging a bid from pop artist Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, an avid Obama supporter:
According to the AP late Tuesday evening, Fergie (real name: Stacy Ann Ferguson) has been pre-approved at a meeting of team owners before even placing a bid.

Hey, why shouldn't Fergie pass the NFL's political litmus test? As an outspoken Obama supporter who appeared at his nomination acceptance speech in Denver last year, she's got the credentials they're looking for (even if parents are horrified). She also visited with the man whose oratory skills she finds "amazing" at the White House earlier this year.

Walter, is there any more to that blog post? They're not making a very good case for comparing the things Fergie has said to the things Rush has said if that's it...

Have the players or owners raised any objections to Fergie? If not, it is really nobody’s business.

The problem with Rush ‘drug addict’ Limbaugh is not that liberals have raised objections (as his political opponents, they can be expected to raised objections), but players themselves have raised objections. While NFL may ignore objections raised by liberals, they would ignore objections raised by the players themselves at their own peril.

There's no such thing as bad publicity. Though one has to wonder at what point the market share he can gobble up becomes vanishingly small, and how much of this is really about his love of hearing his name thrown around.

ESPN is reporting that Rush has taken the high road and withdrawn his name from the bidding group so his friends can buy the team. Jesse "Heimy town" Jackson and Al Sharpton win again.

ESPN is reporting that Rush has taken the high road and withdrawn his name from the bidding group so his friends can buy the team. Jesse "Heimy town" Jackson and Al Sharpton win again.

:roll::lol:

Sources: Rush Limbaugh to be out of bid for St Louis Rams - ESPN

Sources: Checketts to drop Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, according to three NFL sources.

Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.

Three-quarters of the league's 32 owners would have to approve any sale to Limbaugh and his group. Earlier this week, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay predicted that Limbaugh's potential bid would be met by significant opposition. Several players have also voiced their displeasure with Limbaugh's potential ownership position, and NFL Players Association head DeMaurice Smith, who is black, urged players to speak out against Limbaugh's bid.

Ultimately, the sources said, Checketts must reconfigure his group and find another investor to make his bid more viable.
