Rush was DROPPED, he did not withdraw, and did so most ungracefully, citing a conspiracy against 'conservatives', which is part of his spiel, proclaiming himself to be a victim, something he casts as political correctness in others.
First of all Rush is no Conservative, he's a Neoconservative. Neoconservatives are shills for Economic Liberalism, who've attached themselves to the vehicle of conservatism, but have no understanding or allegiance to true social conservatism.. or economic conservatism, which is founded in national oversight and moral integrity.
Almost all.. Rush, Glenn Beck.. come from backgrounds as college drop outs, spotty and transient employment records, mostly in promotion and sales, and serious bouts of alcohol and substance abuse, and failed marriages. They were basically losers, until they stumbled into talk radio.
They happened to luck into an amorphous grudging resentment, mostly by white middle aged males, which is pandered to by the rich corporate and family interests that own most of the media in the U.S. and find these intellectually shallow and amoral characters, with a gift for gab, useful to promote an economic agenda that supports their interests.
That agenda is classic ecomomic liberalism, free trade, global free markets, deregulation, monetarism and the disassembly of the government fiduciary responsibility and supervision of the economy for the common good. All the attributes that fomented the economic collapse of 2008, which is only the first shock of an untenable economic system.
So Rush, with his contract that pays him $10s of millions a year, is little more than a bombastic shill, no conservative.. a puppet for the economic elite.. and NOT SMART. The prospective ownership group of the St. Louis Blues has lost absolutely nothing of managerial value by dumping Rush.
