That is what I heard on CNN, Tonington. Rush Limbaugh did not decide to do the right thing and drop out; the group which is bidding for the ownership dropped him like a hot potato.

Anyway, I think the right thing was done in the end.

In all seriousness, why would other NFL owners want a partner who, as a matter of purpose in life, creates controversy?

Rush was DROPPED, he did not withdraw, and did so most ungracefully, citing a conspiracy against 'conservatives', which is part of his spiel, proclaiming himself to be a victim, something he casts as political correctness in others.

First of all Rush is no Conservative, he's a Neoconservative. Neoconservatives are shills for Economic Liberalism, who've attached themselves to the vehicle of conservatism, but have no understanding or allegiance to true social conservatism.. or economic conservatism, which is founded in national oversight and moral integrity.

Almost all.. Rush, Glenn Beck.. come from backgrounds as college drop outs, spotty and transient employment records, mostly in promotion and sales, and serious bouts of alcohol and substance abuse, and failed marriages. They were basically losers, until they stumbled into talk radio.

They happened to luck into an amorphous grudging resentment, mostly by white middle aged males, which is pandered to by the rich corporate and family interests that own most of the media in the U.S. and find these intellectually shallow and amoral characters, with a gift for gab, useful to promote an economic agenda that supports their interests.

That agenda is classic ecomomic liberalism, free trade, global free markets, deregulation, monetarism and the disassembly of the government fiduciary responsibility and supervision of the economy for the common good. All the attributes that fomented the economic collapse of 2008, which is only the first shock of an untenable economic system.

So Rush, with his contract that pays him $10s of millions a year, is little more than a bombastic shill, no conservative.. a puppet for the economic elite.. and NOT SMART. The prospective ownership group of the St. Louis Blues has lost absolutely nothing of managerial value by dumping Rush.

Quite so, Rush gave in with poor grace, he was not a gracious loser. His behavior was about what one would expect from him.

He's blaming Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the Liberals in the ownership group. Big surprise eh?

Racist Flush Limpballs was the hater who said blacks were out to rape every white woman in the world. This after the ''wilding'' event in NYC. A dozen years later it was proven that white cops made up the story. But Limpy never apologized for his hate filled racist remark about blacks.

That is why he is not qualified for membership in the NFL ranks.

I'm not exactly sure if the fat-a$$ed mouthpiece is qualified as a member of the human species.

One could argue with whether he is qualified or not, Gopher. And three is no denying that there are some real sleazeballs, scum balls in NFL.

My problem was that many players raised objections about Limbaugh’s ownership. Such concerns must be taken seriously, and apparently NFL did.

If players and owners don’t raise objections, it is really nobody’s business as to who owns a particular team. But if players themselves object, it is a different story.

Frankly, I don't think it's the players' job to decide who should own the team. Their job is to play 17 to 20 football games per year.

I disagree; I think players should have some say as to who owns the team. Especially if players are adamantly opposed to somebody owning a team, I think it will be foolhardy on the part of NFL to sell the team to that person.

Even if there is no boycott, such a move will create plenty of bitterness, ill will between players, owners and NFL, and it cannot be good in the long term.
