He was arrested, arraigned, and tried on the same day, and sentenced to 13 months, a a publication ban put on the facts of the trial.......then he was shipped straight to prison.
He had his day in court, with no time to prepare a defense.

Even the damned judge knows it was horribly wrong,. Why else would they take the unprecedented step of a publication ban on the details of a trial already completed?
