That'll show 'em.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WLS/AP) - Organizers of the Labor Day parade in Wausau say Republican lawmakers aren't welcome in this year's event.
The Marathon County Central Labor Council sponsors the Sept. 5 parade. The council includes about 30 local unions from the Marathon County area.
Council president Randy Radtke says they choose not to invite elected officials who have "openly attacked worker's rights" or did nothing when state public workers lost most of their right to collectively bargain.

Republican Rep. Sean Duffy's office received notice from parade organizers this week that no Republicans would be invited to walk in the parade. Duffy's chief of staff, Brandon Moody, tells WAOW-TV the congressman was hoping differences could be set aside for the family-friendly event.

I'm wondering if that might not infringe on one of the basic human rights- the right of movement within ones own country. I'd tell them to f**k off with capital F.

Well the rich Dems and repubs both need people to give their all, don't they. Both parties serve the rich.

Myself I do not limit my friends to political beliefs - that narrows the interaction - and the enjoyment-Who wants a bunch of drones that always agree. Not I. Do you?

I couldn't agree more. It's Labor Day, not Unionized Labor Day. I'd like to fire them all. Can't wait for an opportunity to be a scab! :)

They are speaking about them being there in an official capacity. Government reps always
attend those events, like the festivals and parades held in communities everywhere. There
has been so much debate and hostility in that state and the Union Movement is not happy
to the point where they told them they were not welcome at their official functions within the
state, at Labour Day events. In the excited States those gatherings are important for politicians/
I would not attend either with the Governor and his anti union state government,
I am not always on the side of the unions but in this case I was. We had a government out of
control in that State. Remember when Gordon Campbell was out of control and tore up the
labour contracts, only to find out later his actions were in fact illegal. Sometimes unions and
sometimes even governments go too far. JLM mentioned an affront to basic human rights, well
the State Governor didn't care too much about workers rights either did he?

Just because they're not invited, that doesn't mean they can't show up.... it's in a public area. It's just a political statement, nothing more. It's not like they're going to have the Hell's Angels there to beat them up.

Like Campbell the State government there is working in the best interests of taxpayers which is what they are elected for. They are not elected to protect the cushy positions of out of control government workers.
