All federal parties are in a mad push these final few days of the year to boost their fundraising numbers before the quarter ends. So far, the only pitch I’ve seen to use a “celebrity” came, today, from the Liberals, over the signature of ”Chantal Kreviazuk, Juno Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter” (whose music I quite admire, I must say). Kreviazuk says she supports Trudeau and while she does not say “join me in making a donation”, you will see (below) that there is a pitch from the party for cash is between her endorsement and her signature. Thing is, I can find no record in Elections Canada’s database of any donation by any Kreviazuk in Canada to any Liberal anywhere.

First, read the pitch from Chantal:

Hi David Its Chantal

But let’s take a quick visit to the Elections Canada political finance database to see if anyone with that last name “Kreviazuk” — perhaps with the first name, Chantal? — has ever donated to the Liberal Party. Anything? Nope. Since 2004, Elections Canada has donations on record from just two people with the last name “Kreviazuk”. That would be Deb and Sam Kreviazuk who share a postal code in Gonor, Manitoba. And they both gave only to the Conservatives. There is no record of any Kreviazuk giving money to the Liberals since 2004.

Perhaps Chantal is donating under another name? If not, there’s still a good 24 hours+ left in the current year to get her name on Liberal donors list!

I would not support the Chretien Liberal gov't because they were the most corrupt gov't in the history of Canada.

Yes of course, bring Chrétien into it when I mentioned Martin. You have zero credibility. You are nothing but a CPC mouthpiece.

Whatevs. My liberal candidate is a Rhodes scholar with twenty years as a successful entrepreneur in the tech sector.

Iggy was a highly vaunted scholar... Mind you, the entrepreneurial experience counts a ton in my eyes

You know, I'd be embarrassed to be a card carrying Conservative now. All they seem to have is desperate personal attacks. That's not surprising given the dismal performance of their man Stephen over the last few years. He's acted more like a Dipper than a conservative. How in the hell do defend that other than "Look, Justin has pretty hair".

Keep the dream alive

Nah. Blew the cheque this week on hookers and blow.

You know a hooker that will accept cheques?

... Mind, ah, maybe shooting me her #?

If Garneau had won, he would be getting a similar amount of personal vilification from the Nixonian attack dogs of the Con party. That's what they know.

Actually they don't know a whole helluva lot. Colpy knows damn well a true conservative would have supported Martin in the 2004 election. Especially after the Conservatives dumped Manning. He likes to pretend it's all about Chrétien but nobody (and I mean nobody) calls them Chrétien's budgets. History shows Martin balanced the budget. Colpy simply can't admit that because it would require him to admit that he's nothing more than a CPC party hack.

Interesting comments from the conservative minded Fraser Institute in 2011

Lessons from Liberals' 1995 budget offer Conservatives a blueprint for cutting spending and balancing budget | Fraser Institute

“Our analysis recommends the government follow the approach set by Paul Martin in 1995 and reduce spending. This would generate a $22.9 billion cumulative surplus over the same period due to the attainment of a balanced budget much sooner than currently anticipated,” Veldhuis said."

The page is a good read. I recommend it for everyone but particularly Colpy.

You're thinking of someone else, also you are beginning to sound like a broken f**King record......................Stifle it!

Nope. I'm thinking of you and your incredibly stupid comment that you were trying to get a class action law suit against me because I hurt your feelings. I take it you gave up on your idiotic idea?

Re: The Shiny Pony Returns to Canada's Left Coast

Justin Trudeau agreed to an interview with Global TV's Jas Johal yesterday, which you can watch here.
Here is the reaction of well known B.C. political pundit, Alex G. Tsakumis, republished with permission:
If this is the idiotic, rhetorical ineffectiveness that the Liberal Party of Canada and their team of fools, think is going to get an unaccomplished, airhead across the goal line before Stephen Harper, then I misjudged the Grits integrity -- they have none. It's grotesquely offensive to me as a Canadian that the Liberal Party of Canada has clearly learned nothing from the progressively more punishing rebuke they earned, thrice, at the polls. Win, by all means. But the offering of Justin Trudeau as anything even approaching a legitimate, credible candidate, is so utterly and completely insulting to the intelligence of the Canadian public. Being in public life shouldn't be on-the-job training. His interview with Jas Johal tonight, only confirms that Trudeau has not only inherited his mother's looks, but her brains, too. Very disappointing, and a contemptible disregard for real issues. Just fluff. And beyond belief that anyone in the media could possibly take him in any way seriously. Beyond belief.

Sure he said the same of Ignatieff, Rae and Dion. It doesn't seem to be workgin this time. And the great thing--the angrier the conservatives get about it, the worse it gets for them. This guy is really mad. He needs to chillax.
