Harper's never had a job outside politics except for a brief stint his dad got him where he worked.

Harper should run on that, if that's the case. Instead, there doesn't seem to be any other arrows in the quiver other than nasty attack ads, an the politics of fear and loathing. I think people are appreciating the positive message the Liberals are bringing.

Trudeau has absolutely nothing.... The only policy that I have heard of is to legalize pot and his refusal to accept anyone into the Liberal Party that is pro-life.
Trudeau practically begs for what he's getting.
Well it worked for Obama. The orthodoxy was that you can't win a campaign that didn't run neagtive campaign ads, and that you can't win an election by appealing to youth. But Obama succeeded. I don't think it will be easy, but I know that Trudeau has some campaign organizers that are veterans of the Obama campaign.
Early indications are that this approach is working for Trudeau.
That's because they haven't announced much in the way of policy yet. I don't think they're in much of a rush to unroll their platform.

What they have announced has been disastrous.
In terms of any other platforms, generally, a Party tries to do this in order to generate a membership base... Time is ticking for Trudeau Jr and the longer he waits, the easier it will be for the big tent parties to pick him apart

Yeah but he won two elections with that strategy. Certainly the first one anyway. IOt's tough to judge a president during his lame duck years. They always fall in popularity Also your own political viewpoint may be biasing your assessment.
