Chris Christie inadvertently explained how the Kim Davises of the world resemble radical Islamic jihadists: "what they want to do is impose their faith upon each and every one of us."

Christie's unintentional misstep came during the most unique and misguided of political pivots—when he was trying to steer his answer away from the fact that he had previously said a person in Davis's position must follow the law and do her job.

I never said that Ms. Davis should either lose her job or that she had to do it. But what I did say was that the person who came in for the license needed to get it. And so if there’s someone in that organization, and it turns out there was, who was willing to be able to do that, that’s what we should do.

But just as importantly, and I agree with what John said. You know, we all have our own individual interpretations of our faith. And here’s the problem with what’s going on around the world. The radical Islamic jihadists, what they want to do is impose their faith upon each and every one of us — every one of us. And the reason why this war against them is so important is that very basis of religious liberty.

It's Faith and Freedom time again? Go figure.
Sen. David Perdue, a freshman senator from Georgia, opened his remarks at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority conference by encouraging attendees to pray for President Obama. But, he added in a joking tone, they need to pray for him in a very specific way: “We should pray for him like Psalms 109:8 says: May his days be short,” the senator said, smiling wryly.
Quoting the Old Testament to a room full of dedicated conservative "Christians" is always good for a cheap giggle and some applause. Let's take a look at that particularly piquant psalm:
8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office. 9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
It's a long exhortation to kill an enemy and ruin his whole damn family, because reasons.

Speaking with Politico after his remarks, however, Perdue says he didn't mean any harm by it.
As far as the lines that followed the verse he quoted, Perdue said it is "really unfortunate." "But the way we set it up was to make sure that it wasn’t the case," he added. "There was no intention to be derogatory at all. it was a little humor.”
Yeah, a sitting Republican senator would never stoop to being derogatory about the president. It was just for laughs.

Later in the afternoon, the White House weighed in on the remarks.

“I did make note of Senator Perdue's comments," press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters. "As Senator Perdue considers whether or not an apology is appropriate, there a variety of other Scripture he might consult."

Republican pervert who founded Arizona "minutemen" convicted of sexual abuses of young child:

'He is not to be trusted in society'
: Minuteman founder sentenced to 19 years in prison Arizona for sexually abusing five-year-old girl

Chris Simcox, 55, was sentenced in Maricopa County, Arizona
He had sexually abused a girl, five, and showed her pornography
A prosecutor said Simcox 'is not to be trusted in society'
Simcox started Minuteman border control group to spot illegal immigrants
He had been found not guilty of abusing a six-year-old girl in June

Chained at the hands and feet and wearing a black-and-white jail uniform, Simcox declined to make a statement and shook his head as he was sentenced. He had previously denied the allegations.
Simcox escaped a mandatory life sentence in June after a jury acquitted him on a separate charge of engaging in sexual conduct with a six-year-old girl.
The Minuteman founder made an unsuccessful attempt last year to get Padilla removed from the case, arguing that he believed the judge was a member of two Hispanic civil rights organizations and tried to help people who are in the country illegally.

Although he isn't a lawyer, Simcox represented himself at trial. He had insisted that he should be allowed to personally question the girls on the witness stand.
The judge said that would cause the girls emotional distress. In the end, Simcox got an attorney to pose the questions.
Simcox's arrest in 2013 came after his career as an advocate for tougher immigration policies had fizzled.
The Minuteman movement gained attention in 2005 when illegal immigration heated up as a national political issue.
Minuteman volunteers fanned out along the nation's southern border to watch for illegal crossings and report them to federal agents.
The movement splintered after Simcox and another co-founder parted ways and headed up separate groups.
More than a decade ago, Simcox was sentenced to two years of probation for misdemeanor federal convictions that involved carrying a concealed handgun at the Coronado National Memorial near the Arizona-Mexico border.

Here’s an extraordinary GOP resignation letter from a lifelong Republican

Here's an extraordinary GOP resignation letter from a lifelong Republican

York Township Republican committeeman Chris Ladd just posted an open resignation letter to the GOP that has gone viral, in which Ladd says his conscience won’t allow him to be associated with the party of Donald Trump.

In his now-ironically named blog GOPLifer, which features a tagline that says “Because leaving isn’t exactly an option,” Ladd posted a detailed account about how leaving had become his only option.

Ladd began by acknowledging that compromise is essential in politics, saying

“We come together in political parties to magnify our influence. An organized representative institution can give weight to our will in ways we could not accomplish on our own. Working with others gives us power, but at the cost of constant, calculated compromise. No two people will agree on everything. There is no moral purity in politics.”

After describing his 30-year loyalty to the GOP, Ladd then writes of his sad realization that the temptation to fall in line is inconsistent with his own morality.

“With three decades invested in the Republican Party, there is a powerful temptation to shrug and soldier on. Despite the bold rhetoric, we all know Trump will lose. Why throw away a great personal investment over one bad nominee? Trump is not merely a poor candidate, but an indictment of our character. Preserving a party is not a morally defensible goal if that party has lost its legitimacy.”

In a particularly damning passage, he says the following of Trump:

From his fairy-tale wall to his schoolyard bullying and his flirtation with violent racists, Donald Trump offers America a singular narrative – a tale of cowards. Fearful people, convinced of our inadequacy, trembling before a world alight with imaginary threats, crave a demagogue. Neither party has ever elevated to this level a more toxic figure, one that calls forth the darkest elements of our national character.

Ladd then declared his intention to leave the Republican party forever:

“I will not contribute my name, my work, or my character to an utterly indefensible cause. No sensible adult demands moral purity from a political party, but conscience is meaningless without constraints. A party willing to lend its collective capital to Donald Trump has entered a compromise beyond any credible threshold of legitimacy. There is no redemption in being one of the “good Nazis.”

Ladd finishes his letter by resigning from his position as a committeeman and formally severing ties with the GOP.

No tRUMP chump here.

FOX “Family Values” News Correspondent Arrested For Rape, Sodomy

A Fox News alumnus has been arrested and charged with rape. Orlando Salinas, 57, was arrested July 28 on two felony charges of rape and sodomy. The arrest of Salinas comes after a grand jury was convened in relation to an incident which is alleged to have transpired January 11, 2016. Due to the nature of the charge, the victim’s identity is not being revealed. However court documents do stipulate that the individual Salinas is accused of raping is not his wife.

The fall from public life for Salinas came in April 2015 when he was fired from local Virginia television station WDBJ7 after three years of employment for insubordination. Before working at WDBJ7 Salinas was Fox News correspondent for twelve years from 2000 – 2012 who was known for his combative interview style.

From Fox hosts Bill O’Reilly settling a sexual harrassment lawsuit, to Brian Kilmead joking that a woman who was beaten on an elevator “should have taken the stairs” and now with the recent departure of Fox CEO Roger Ailes over sexual harassment allegations over 25 women have come forward with awful decade’s long tales of mistreatment, it is clear Fox has long cultivated a culture of misogyny and male entitlement.

After Salinas left the news business he began a new career as a Remax real estate agent. In an Dec. 2015 “Whatever happened to?” interview, Salinas’ boss Amy Hudson said, “He’s a wonderful people person. People who know who he is really trust him.”

The judge who set Salinas’ bond did not agree with Hudson’s assessment of Salinas’ trustworthy nature, as he is being held at Montgomery County Jail without bond. Each charge levied against Salinas carries a minimum of five years and a maximum of life in prison. His next scheduled court date is Oct. 29.

Yet another in a long line of self righteous moral perverts from the GOP caught red handed.

Nebraska State Senator Bill Kintner Says He Is 'Being Obedient to God’s Decision' by Not Resigning

Bill Kintner says he has "confessed to God and asked His forgiveness" and will not be resigning as a Nebraska Republican state senator, despite having illegally engaged in cybersex via Skype on his state government computer with a woman who subsequently extorted him for money.

Kiuntner, who has a long history of making offensive remarks about women, minorities, and the poor, and even compared his fellow senators to monkeys, in a statement says that he "knew as a follower of Christ" he knew he "needed to take quick and decisive action" after the blackmail threat, so he contacted the Nebraska State patrol.

Now, more than a year after the original incident, Kintner is being fined $1000, and the governor of Nebraska, Republican Pete Ricketts – who also happens to be Kintner's wife's boss – is demanding his resignation. "In light of the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission’s decision, Sen. Kintner should resign his office immediately. Period," Ricketts said in a statement.

Last year Kintner, who opposes same-sex marriage and allowing gay people to adopt or even be foster parents. made very offensive remarks about LGBT people.

“If you’re a Christian, they’re coming after you," Sen. Kintner told his colleagues. "So I think it’s very important to remember that whenever they talk about protecting a class, it’s not just a shield, it’s a sword. And they are going to come after you if you’re a Christian. It something that this body, we need to guard the rights of everyone. That includes Christians."

Kintner tells the Omaha World-Herald in an article today, "I go home to a loving wife. I’ve got a great marriage. My walk with Christ is stronger than it’s ever been."

"This was a wake-up call. This is a real wake-up call. If it can happen to a guy who’s a Christian who goes to church, I mean, this is something that all men need to understand – that sexual sin is the way Satan gets to us."

Rudy Giuliani, stumping for Trump today.
"Under those eight years, before Obama came along, we didn't have any successful radical Islamic terrorist attack in the United States. They all started when Obama got into office."
Rudy Giuliani was the Republican mayor of New York City in 2001 when two airliners piloted by radical Islamic terrorists struck the towers of the World Trade Center. Or, to use Mr. Giuliani's middle name: 9/11.

Conservative radio host: ‘We’ve created this monster’ of fact-hating right-wing voters

In an interview with Business Insider’s Oliver Darcy, a conservative radio host lamented the fact that conservative media has conditioned its followers to distrust the mainstream media so much that they have become fact-free “monsters.”

In a tweet promoting an upcoming piece on rightwing media, Darcy posted an excerpt from an interview with conservative radio host Charlie Sykes who claims candidates like Donald Trump can say anything on the stump without fear of being fact-checked by the likes of Fox News or conservative websites.

“We’ve basically eliminated any of the referees, the gatekeepers. There’s nobody. Let’s say that Donald Trump basically makes whatever you want to say, whatever claim he wants to make. And everybody knows it’s a falsehood,” he explained. “The big question of my audience, it is impossible for me to say that. ‘By the way, you know it’s false.’ And they’ll say, ‘Why? I saw it on Allen B. West.’ Or they’ll say, ‘I saw it on a Facebook page.’ And I’ll say, ‘The New York Times did a fact check.’ And they’ll say, Oh, that’s The New York Times. That’s bull****.'”

According to Sykes, any attempts to continue fighting back against misinformation is dismissed with complaints that he has “sold out,” adding, “Then they’ll ask what’s wrong with me for not repeating these stories that I know not to be true.”

Sykes warned “There’s got to be a reckoning on all this.”

“We’ve created this monster,” he warned. “Look, I’m a conservative talk show host. All conservative talk show hosts have basically established their brand as being contrasted with the mainstream media. So we have spent 20 years demonizing the liberal mainstream media. And by the way, a lot has been justifiable. There is real bias. But, at a certain point you wake up and you realize you have destroyed the credibility of any credible outlet out there.”

“And I feeling, to a certain extent, that we are reaping the whirlwind at that,” he continued. “And I have to look in the mirror and ask myself, ‘To what extent did I contribute?'”

Flood Destroys Home Of Hate Group Leader Who Claims God Sends Natural Disasters To Punish Gays

Flood Destroys Home Of Hate Group Leader Who Claims God Sends Natural Disasters To Punish Gays – The Gaily Grind

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, an organization labeled an anti-LGBT hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, was left homeless by the destructive flooding that has ravaged southern Louisiana this week, killing 11 people and destroying an estimated 40,000 homes.

Perkins, who has claimed that God uses natural disasters such as hurricanes and flooding to punish people for sinning (in particular homosexuals and their supporters), had his own home destroyed by the Lord Almighty. The hate group leader says he was forced to escape his destroyed home by canoe, reports JMG.

Perkins called into his own radio show to talk about the disaster of “biblical proportions” that, according to Perkins, will force his family to live in a camper for the six months it will take to rebuild his home.

Perkins claims that God sent this deadly flood not to punish the gays but rather “as an incredible, encouraging spiritual exercise to take you to the next level in your walk with an almighty and gracious God who does all things well.” In fact, he urges Christians to rejoice that God considers them “worthy of suffering for his sake.”

God punishes.
