Anecdote: On Oct 19, 1957, the Queen and Prince Philip were on a state visit to the U.S., meeting President Eisenhower. The Queen expressed her desire to see an American football game, so the times being easier and more casual back then, they were taken to College Park, Maryland to see the University of Maryland Terrapins (Fear the Turtle!) play the University of North Carolina Tar Heels (don't ask). The queen met with players of both teams and with Maryland Governor Theodore McKeldin, and inspected the coin for the coin-toss. Prince Philip received an autographed football.
Maryland won 21-7.
Closest thing I've got to a "Queen Elizabeth" anecdote.
