Quebec will make immigrants pass 'values' test

Immigrants to Canada who want to settle in Quebec will soon be required to pass a provincial values test.

Starting Jan. 1, immigrants will have to prove they have learned "democratic values and Quebec values" in order to obtain a selection certificate, the first step toward permanent residency for immigrants wanting to live in the province.

The test only pertains to the economic class of immigrants, which is overseen by the provincial government. It does not apply to immigrants coming to Quebec as refugees or through family reunification.

... yeah... Fuk that, Quebec.

I hope someone challenges that because they are really starting to sound more and more 'questionable' with every year that passes.

All this amounts to is that Quebec is vetting it's immigrants, something that Trudeau doesn't feel necessary for illegal border crossers. A start in the right direction in my mind.

I could care less if an immigrant can speak English. I care if they’ll fill a job that somebody can’t or won’t do. Of course, I’m not a racist

We let the province of Quebec do whatever it wants and everyone here stands "Mum" on that.
If anyone here actually cares about what Quebec has been doing in the first place then the arguments would reflect that. Already I've seen people here complain about Quebec and how they treat coloured minorities vs not complaininging over their language laws.
If you're going to lecture me on how I'm racist because Quebecious are white and everything white is racist then I expect you to be speaking out against their language laws the same as I expect you talk about
... you know what **** it.. anything critical....
But no one here is not.
So before any of you talk about Quebec remember. If you support Quebec and denounce the rest of Canada then your a bigot. A bigot liberal because it was under the liberals that this law happened under.

And that won't change because in another thread I even said that people don't want an honest electoral system, people only want what is good for their candidate's.

No, of course not. Instead of using the market to force certain employers to pay decent wages because they can't get workers, let's just exploit some "dumb foreigners" to do the shit work for shit pay. Nothing racist 'bout that, right? "Uh oh, some greedy capitalist wants to open yet another McDonalds franchise. Better up the immigration quota".

The only good thing about Quebec is the fishing. I can't complain about that.

Working at TnT, a bank, real estate, restaurants, hotels, retail and on and on.

You need English or French to work there.. how will you communicate with the other employees to start? How will you be trained for the job if you don't speak English?

Maybe you didn't understand the question Petros.

Washing bottles with Cannuck, you don't need English.. but any halfwit can do his job.

Ice fishing.. I remember driving along the Saint Lawrence River seeing all the huts.

I miss back East, the colour of the leaves changing, real snow winters and lights at Christmas.

All you get here is a bunch of angry people at the world, aggressive drivers, rude people thinking the world owes them something.
