Northern Ontario,
Quebec will make immigrants pass 'values' test

Immigrants to Canada who want to settle in Quebec will soon be required to pass a provincial values test.

Starting Jan. 1, immigrants will have to prove they have learned "democratic values and Quebec values" in order to obtain a selection certificate, the first step toward permanent residency for immigrants wanting to live in the province.

The test only pertains to the economic class of immigrants, which is overseen by the provincial government. It does not apply to immigrants coming to Quebec as refugees or through family reunification.

Why just the immigrants?

You would think everyone would have to take the test

Trumpite hates free market
Soooo, you consider it to be the free market when you have to import wage slaves by the thousands? Spoken like a true to their roots democrat. Let me guess, your ancestors owned a plantation in the US around 200 years ago or so.

... yeah... Fuk that, Quebec.

I hope someone challenges that because they are really starting to sound more and more 'questionable' with every year that passes.
Yeah, I'm not really sure how this will fly. A) From a legal/Constitutional perspective, immigrants can settle anywhere they want in Canada.

B) I'm fairly certain the notwithstanding clause does not apply in this regard. Although I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

Not that I would get why anyone would want to settle where they weren't wanted, that said, if they were immigrating to Canada and passed the checks, that should be 'valid enough' (yes, I admit mistakes happen sometimes too).

Quebec as a place, a province, is gorgeous. Some of the people, highly questionable to downright fuk them. Others are just like anyone else, IMO.
