The Federal Liberals are literally throwing us under the bus. Many of us in Montreal speak no French. We were schooled entirely in English. I hope fellow English speaking Quebeckers voice their displeasure come Election Day.

This policy change crosses the line.
Federal languages minister Mélanie Joly on Tuesday tabled her much anticipated reforms to Canada’s Official Languages Act, an overhaul that includes the formal recognition by Ottawa that French is the official language of Quebec.

The amendments guarantee the right to be served and work in French in businesses under federal jurisdiction in Quebec and in other parts of the country with a strong predominance of francophones, although the level of that predominance has yet to be determined.
What about the right to be served and work in English in businesses under federal jurisdiction in Quebec and in other parts of the country with a strong predominance of English speakers???

There are not enough of you to make any difference....An election is coming and Trudy wants the Quebec vote.
Apparently stats say they still fall 4 seats short of a majority. I hope that scrawny bitch goes for it and doesn't get the confidence vote of the house to be PM.

If you can't speak English, you shouldn't be in Canada. Don't expect taxpayers to provide you with translations to the language you grew up with.

There would be a right to work in French and to be served in French with respect to businesses under federal jurisdiction — not only in Quebec, but where there are substantial francophone minorities — without any reciprocal right concerning English.

English Speaking Quebeckers Federally delegated as second class citizens

There are 800,000+ native English speakers in Quebec. We all need to vote en masse against the Liberals to send a clear message that we are not second class citizens.
