Is that part of what you posted?

Were is the link?

You can write to CBC and Huff if the word link really bothers you that much. If you read the rest of the story, they make it clear that there are multiple views on what's causing the increase in violence.

I don't know about overcrowding causing a rise in the use of force by guards but there IS a link between police and the courts doing their job and the rise in overcrowding. Who cares?
There are lots of honest working people that live in overcrowded conditions as well. They are of much more concern.

I never made the claim that there is a direct link. Also, let's bear in mind that just because something isn't proven, doesn't mean there is no possibility of influence or that it is not worth discussing.

This is an area where further study is needed and while there are multiple factors that lead to increased violence, I think we can all agree that overcrowding doesn't really help the situation.

So what you are saying is you now fully support the Harper gov't's plan to build new prisons...............:)

Isn't it wonderful to at last enjoy good gov't????

:)

Thank you Colpy.

All this time, I did not realize that I love and support everything my government does for me.

To quote Seinfeld: "Scintillating as always." I refer to the lengthy exchange between Petrao and Mentalfloss.

That being said I believe it was predicted that increasing the prison population would lead to an increase in prison violence. Perhaps it is a bit too soon for that to happen, but something is going on.

Makes a lot of sense don't it? You can have that in an open field, with much less mess to clean up!

Even with the beating in jail Canada's prison system is still looked at as a resort from prisoners in other countries

It's always nice to see you posting stuff that shoots holes in your previous shilling.

No it doesn't. Nor do aging facilities.

But hey, we don't need new prisons.
