Pain management therapy worked - for a while. It's a head game I learned to play on myself while in rehab - to get off the doctor's stuff. DON'T THINK ABOUT THE PAIN...

On bad days, a wee puff helped dull the edge. In the really bad ones, two or three helped me enjoy it a bit more. The problem with dealing with Pension PITAs is the stupid questions they ask:

"Where does it hurt?"
"When does it hurt the worst?"
"What are you doing when the the pain comes?"
"On a scale of one to ten...."

Thank you Pension PITA! So much for not addressing the pain....

There are none so blind as those who will not see. There you are coldstream in violation of the word. Your willful disregard for the truth does not compliment your intelligence. If you cannot open the mind to accept the truth then you must face trial by redundancy, the fruit of dogma. I have nothing in common with the new-agers and the western culture you laud is without doubt the worst example of human waste and sloth the world has ever witnessed, a veritable toilet bowl of corruption and perversion. It is done and that is good.

Good grief, what's left DB. You sound like a luddite, maybe an anarchist, with a utopia of tribal harmony, passing around a joint at the village campfire. Where would you rather spend an August Weekend evening, a classical symphony or Burning Man. I know the answer, only one puts to the torch all that 'toilet bowl of corruption and perversion'.. while offering absolutely nothing but a withdrawal into a drug addled annihilation of sense and reason as a solution.

The symphony of course. Maybe you do know the answers, it certainly wouldn't be the first time an agent of the church has adhered to company policy when faced with facts. Sense and reason are my friends in this conversation. How can you so lightly discount tribal harmony in the age of great and diverse tribal harmony? You are an adherant of tribal law of great antiquity Coldstream steeped in its tradition and practice. Enough for now I'm risking a beating with your cane.

No cane here. And the universal church would never describe itself as a 'tribe', and i'm quite sure they would not want me as their 'agent'.

Do you know any of the Church's elders ... like Mike - the guy who wore his underwear on his head into Court because the Judge wouldn't let him wear his hemp hat? ... or jumped on the Compassionate Cannabis bandwagon so he could sell weed to folks around here (at market rate)? ... or ran locally for the Marijuana Party? ... or got caught shipping baled weed (sacrament) BPX to Walter and the boys around Simcoe?

Church of the Universe.... They give weed a bad name....

The church had its origins in tribal ceremony, Jewish tribal ceremony, in the Middle East where Ganga has been used for thousands of years for the enlightenment of man. Most religions have their origins in the use of psychotropic drugs. Most of the major religions had their origins in Soma.

If god did LSD, would he see people?

I've hit the point where I fight it. No pain relief during the day... nothing leaves me clear enough to see unexpected company, make a quick trip to the store, etc. So I get nothing. I grit my teeth and move instead. Up and down the stairs, off to swimming, hit the gym, maybe go for a bike ride. I get pain relief at night in the shape of a shot glass of something dark and strong. It helps relax the muscles, helps me sleep, so I'm more ready for the next day of fighting it again.

Yep that's the sign you've grown up Kerrie. It is a slow sinking while you wait for the real fix to come along. But once the kids have grown and left to sort out their own future and you're relegated to dinner on Sunday and the phone calls, you can get back to you and see if there is something that can be done. I wonder if an abrupt dropping out and losing all the convenience and technology so that you have to work get what you need but need much much less might be a temporary lifestyle change that wakes up what was coddled off to sleep back when we we're healthy?

I come on here to distract in the meantime, pop up between posts to clean a bathroom, sweep a floor, then reward myself with more distraction. It's working, but, not ideal by any means.

It's a funny way the mind can and will deal with pain that goes on for a length of time. Any little relief can become an endeared moment.

rediculous.. i keep on giving you enlightened reading but you are forever retreating into a cave of superstition and shadows, cliffy. I suggest you read The Incredible Catholic Mass by Martin von Cocham, written in 1630 it illuminates the symbolism and meaning of the Church's central instrument of the Mass.

It has never been out of print, and lays waste to your claim of tribal, occult origins. Although in fairness the Novus Ordo, post conciliar Mass has become largely incoherent, compared to the Tridentine Latin version, which Pope Benedict is attempting to reintroduce.

But i know you are going to withdraw into your Sacred Mushroom and the Cross psycho babble. It must be like living your life on a continuous acid trip, Blue Cheer on a blotter with that Owsley owl stamped on it, or is it Orange Sunshine. That's your communion wafer, cliffy, not mine.

I'd rather find some 389-year-old Archie comics. Can we stick somewhere around the pot for pain thing?

That was my intent, lw, but cliffy, the chief protagonist, and DB won't leave it alone. I feel compelled to respond to their slander and psychotic episodes. They are like Don Quixote and his sidekick, Sancho Panza, jousting with windmills, legends in their own minds.

As to the subject, however, medical marijuana is a CROCK, end of story.

Crock ... about what I have seen defined in your hysteria.

I am loaded up with Arthritis. While on heart meds, I can't take diuretics or anti-inflammatories. Am I not permitted some quality of life? Praying for some higher power doesn't work at all - and the mind-over-matter of pain managament is but partly effective. On those bad days - like this summer in Ontario - should I have to live in agony just because you had a bad trip? Not gonna happen. I can't abuse the stuff or I will pay a high price - heart palpitations. Used with respect for the drug, it does numb the pain to a point where it is bearable. The natural filtration of toxins process works in the same manner as a diuretic too. Pain days are "poor me" days. Weed works on that too.

You are entitled to your myopia. Your God may forgive your opinions. Would He forgive you for imposing your will on me? You are NOT God.

When have i ever tried to impose anything on you. I just think the nonsense around medical marijuana should be exposed for what it is, an excuse to get high. There are legitimate drugs to deal with medical conditions, but medical marijuana is a fiction. But you can do what you want, except i will fight your imposing a medical fraud and subjective anecdotes as accepted proof.

What would be the point in wasting any more type in explaining it to you? Believe as you wish. It's you who remains ignorant by will. Step out of the seventeenth century.
