Both are stereotypes. Neither is offensive to me at least because I think stereotypes are rather stupid and I don't take offense either easily or often.

Not everyone sees them as stereotypes which is what makes them offensive statements.

Well people that repeat stereotypes never see them as stereotypes because their ignorance blinds them. But those would not be the ones to be offended anyway.

Condemning a group regardless of who they are is nonsense. Its like saying all Scots
are cheap, or all Irish are bad tempered drunks. We have to adopt a policy of looking
at individuals when it comes to immigration for example and use the rules to dictate
how things work.

1 regardless of where you come from no paper work you don't get in.

2 the people investigating must do their job to ensure bad people don't
get into Canada if they do the person who didn't do their job is responsible
and should be held to account

3 Anyone getting Canadian citizenship and did it fraudulently should be
stripped of citizenship and deported.

4 When immigration is granted it is for the person applying, family members
who can qualify may apply on their own, family unification should not be
an automatic pass period.

5 yes we are an open society but citizens who already have citizenship and
pay for the essence of government have the right to protection from bad
people no matter where they are from be it America or Iraq.

If we have the principle of individual rights then all those coming here or all those
living here must be held to the same standard. No one should be singled out
with a stereotype either.

I'd like to amend #1 for you in that....if you had to have paperwork to get onto
the boat/train/plane to get to Canada...& then it disappears mid-trip...then you
don't get in on a refugee claim.

No more so than any other Op/Ed TV personality.

I highly doubt that.

He isn't pretending to be something he isn't.

I've been following the little fu cker since he ran the western standard. He's a fu cking racist bastard. I celebrated when that rag shut down. I celebrated when he sent his whiny emails out to his "subscribers" begging for money. I celebrated when he lost his web site. He's a useless sack of skin.

I know how you feel.

I disagree. But Ezra, like myself, believes you should have the right to say it.

So I like Ezra.

While I agree that he has the right to say it, others have the responsibility to "yell" him down. It is called democracy. If we do not address it, the poison builds.

Who me? God no! Ezra's an over the top clown for the most part (I don't care for his theatrics personally) but he's not really hateful.

Wowzer, SLM; he comes across as a cross between Hitler and the great Khan. I think he totally believes his rightest ranting. He's not even funny.

............but that's just my humble, very humble opinion.

Perhaps Ezra is one of Jason's confidants?

1. These are Jews, a culture synonymous with swindlers. The phrase ‘Jew’ and ‘cheater’ have been so interchangeable historically that they have entered the English language as a verb. ‘He jewed me!’ Well the Jews have jewed us too. And [Jews] come here [to Canada] to jew us again, to rob us blind, as they have done in Europe for centuries. They’re Jews. And one of the central characteristics of that culture is that their chief economy is theft and begging.”

2. These are gypsies, a culture synonymous with swindlers. The phrase gypsy and cheater have been so interchangeable historically that the word has entered the English language as a verb: he gypped me. Well the gypsies have gypped us. Too many have come here as false refugees. And they come here to gyp us again and rob us blind as they have done in Europe for centuries … They’re gypsies. And one of the central characteristics of that culture is that their chief economy is theft and begging.”

I think you are embarking on a "slippery slope", Petros. I think part of the Jew's reputation may have evolved from their being shrewd. As for Gypsies to my knowledge I've never known one. So I think I'll decline on your poll until such time as one of them does me harm, until then I'll keep an open mind. I'm a little more concerned about one of the demographics that has moved into Surrey.

I find all racist, sexual orientation and sexist stereotypes offensive. Unchecked discrimination against Jews and Roma led to them being systematically exterminated in Europe during WW II. Europeans at the time either helped out, went along with it, or kept their mouths shut. Only a small minority actually helped the people Nazis deemed destined for extermination. The lesson we should have learned is that whenever someone is discriminated against, we have a duty to speak out. Whenever we see someone or some people being discriminated against because of who they are, we all have a moral obligation to speak out.

Racism exists in Canada. Antisemitism is no longer as rampant as it once was. Discrimination against the Roma still exists in Europe, but is uncommon here. Discrimination against Muslims is a growing problem. The people facing the greatest discrimination here in Canada are First Nations people.

No,

But I have encountered anti-White hostility in reserves in Big Trout Lake and other Cree/Ojibway First Nations in Northern Ontario. On the other hand I never experienced anti-White sentiment in any Inuit community. that's my personal experience.

Not offensive. Deliberate ignorance is just humorous to me.
