How much taxpayer money did Burnaby waste? That money could have went to finally fill storm water ditches and build sidewalks for residents south of Rumble.

Why would Burnaby even need that since oil has been shipping through there for decades?

Certainly all that oil money Burnaby gets would have paid for that long ago.

"Major climate reparations" being what?

"Just send money" I suppose.

The callous and wanton emitting of CO2 (it's an extremely dangerous greenhouse gas dontcha know) into the air will require years and billions of dollars to reverse here in AB, let alone Sask and MB.

They MUST pay for this most heinous crime.

... Suzuki would agree

Careful. Other provinces might just demand reparations from Alberta for the constant emissions from processing oil from bitumen.

Well, gas, diesel, oil, etc doesn't emit anything until burned so no biggie there in terms of AB being on the hook for anything, but if you insist, we can levy an extra special carbon-save-Gaia levy here on the oil/gas you use and then give you back 10 cents on the dollar for reparations.

You good with that?

Major emissions just to get them to market.

Over the last decade AB and SK were on fire but now that the forest renewed it's self we aren't having fires.

It's hotter and drier here than BC but very few fires.

Oil gas and diesel doesn't burn. The vapours they emit do.

Pipelines are massively efficient, almost zero emissions.

... But since we're talking, the emissions from the millions of tons of raw sewage that you people in BC dump in the oceans daily cause untold volumes of CO2 emissions, let alone the fact that fish die within 20 minutes of exposure to it.

You should be ashamed, but until then ~ reparations are a must

Correction, should read 'the Left Coast', Cap - not the 'people of BC'. Just sayin'

Oh, so we don't get any royalties? At all? Huh, who knew. Besides, employees get paid, usually very well, and believe me they pay taxes - big time. So what planet are YOU on?? Geesh. Seriously?

Well DUH! If they too have bad forest management the answer is yes!! Silly boy....

What percentage of the cause of the fires is due to poor forest management? I would suggest 5%. Lightening and idiots are the top two causes from what I can gather! If the interfaces were cleaned up, fires would likely still happen but the costly damage would be mitigated and the effects on peoples lives would be reduced.

What would BC know about forests as compared to a handful of internet scientists?
