The beauty of running on no platform is that you know nobody expects anything.

Talk about an achievable goal for the Ford government.

Liberal caucus endorses John Fraser as interim leader

TORONTO — An Ottawa-area legislator could become the interim leader of Ontario’s Liberals, who suffered a massive defeat in last week’s provincial election.
The Liberal caucus, which was reduced to seven members, unanimously endorsed John Fraser for the position on Wednesday evening.
Their selection will be voted on over the next 24 hours by party executive members and riding association presidents who do not have elected legislators representing them at Queen’s Park, the party’s president said.
Fraser, a backbencher in the Liberal government, was first elected in a byelection in 2013 that was called after former party leader Dalton McGuinty stepped down.
His endorsement came after the outgoing Liberals held their final cabinet meeting. The majority of Liberal legislators lost their seats as their Progressive Conservative rivals secured a majority, and many acknowledged Wednesday that their party now faces real challenges.
Outgoing premier Kathleen Wynne — who resigned as Liberal leader on election night — said it was an emotional day.
“That it’s coming to an end, this part of it, it’s a challenge,” she said. “But it has been such an honour to serve and I’m going to continue to find ways to serve both my constituents and the people of the province.”

Michael Coteau, the province’s minister of children and youth services who was re-elected in a hotly contested race, said the party must now figure out what went wrong.
“(We must) better understand why that collapse took place,” said “Where was the disconnect between our party, our brand, and the people of Ontario? And how do we re-establish that relationship and that trust.”
Economic Development Minister Steven Del Duca, who was defeated in his suburban riding north of Toronto, said the desire for change was “visceral” while campaigning.
“I think the party needs to take a bit of a step back,” he said. “Do all of the analysis that’s required when you face this kind of result … we’ve done this before and we’ve managed to rise again. And we will, but it will take time.”
Longtime Liberal legislator Michael Gravelle, one of the seven Liberals to be elected, said the coming months will be tough.
“You could feel a difference at the doors,” he said of the campaign. “It was apparent to me that we were in a very competitive race from the very beginning … It will be a real challenge.”
Compounding the issue is the fact that the Liberals are now one seat short of qualifying for official party status, which means they have access to fewer resources and less speaking time in the legislature.
Gravelle said the party will need to rely on the basic resources provided to them as legislators in the coming days to represent their constituents and fulfil critic duties in opposition.
Western University associate political science professor Cristine de Clercy said while on the surface the election results are devastating for the Liberals, popular support for the party still gives a new leader something to build on.
“The Liberal core actually held,” she said. “An awful lot of people voted for Liberal candidates and some of those people were elected. And a lot of Ontarians voted for the Liberal party knowing that their Liberal candidate was going to be defeated. They still voted Liberal anyway.”
De Clercy said the party will now have to get down to the hard, unglamorous work of being an opposition party.
“The new leader will have to teach them how to be in the opposition benches,” she said. “This is going to be Terra incognita. They won’t know how to function really in this role and it’s an important role to help rebuild the party.”
Ontario transitions over to a Progressive Conservative government on June 29.

First someone will have to explain it to Doug Ford.

That could take weeks.

Ontari-owe LIE-berals say their party "core" held even though they were defeated!

Apparently they have not yet noticed that their civil service union HOG CORE has defected to NDP!

Nor have they noticed that Cdns are generally becoming very impatient with the growing cost of tending to the illegals that are coming here in vast swarms like locusts!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

LIE-berals are like the dazed survivors of an earth quake- too stunned to notice how much the world moved!

It will take at LEAST EIGHT YEARS before the LIE-beral party will have a ghost of a chance of even reaching official opposition party status in Ontari-owe!

LIE-berals will ONLY have a chan e of being elected in significant numbers AFTER they ditch all the current policy baggage! The party MUST BE REBUILT from the ground up- a simple reworking of existing policy will NOT CUT IT!

LIE-berals have learned NOTHING from the defeat of Paul Martin- the guy carrying the public blame for the three billion dollar adscam theft- just as provincial LIE-berals carry the blame for gas plants and upside down bridges and endless scandals revolving around LIE-beral efforts to channel gobs of gravy to their pals!

LIE-berals have learned nothing from the defeat of Stephane Dion who wildly assured us that his mouldy green economy plans would make mega tonnes of money while reducing green house gasses by mega tonnes as well! Cnds are now better informed than they were when Dion was defeated! WE have experience of LIE-beral carbon crap and trade scam and we KNOW that it only cleans cash from wallets and leaves the dirt in the air!

LIE-berals have learned nothing from the defeat of MIchael Ignatieff- the gormless academic who thought to dazzle us with big words and small policies! Ignatieff offered us NOTHING! No grand new gravy for Hogs and no breaks in the endless gravy grabbing raids on ordinary people either!

And now- a little over a year from now- it seems likely that LIE-berals will LEARN NOTHING from the probable defeat of Our idiot Boy Justin Trudope- that muddled and pompous little silver spoon socialist who will be sent back to dram school to play with his trust fund and dream of an alternative future!

Civil service Hogs have already demonstrated their anger at Ontari-owe LIE-beral failure to feed them the gravy they desire. There is every reason to think Hogs will also vent their spleen on Our idiot Boy for the same lack of gravy- and it does not help that the Phoenix Pay system is making the mess even worse with such erratic performance- with no easy solutions in sight- or should we assume that a vast LIE-beral ego is blocking the view of real solutions?

The voting block that elected Our idiot Boy in 2015 will probably not be there or him in 2019! His stance on pipelines is enraging so very many Cdns- both those in favour of pipelines and those opposed! Our idi0t Boy has done the impossible- he has sucked and blown at the same time on environmental issues!

Our idiot Boy has told us that he wants to use carbon crap and trade taxes to make fossil fuel so costly we stop using it so he can close down the entire Cdn oil patch! AND he has told us he considers Kinder Morgan pipeline to be essential in getting Cdn oil to market! He wants to spend billions on a pipeline to move a product he thinks the world should stop using!

Our idiot Boy is losing votes to NDP and to Green Party! But Our idiot Boy is so much of an airhead that he is NOT gaining any votes in more logical and sensible parts of the country! HE IS JUST LOSING OUT!!!!!

In addition we can expect to hear some VERY ANGRY QUESTIONS put to Our idiot Boy regarding the true number of illegals that have come here- with the majority of Cdns disgusted with LIE-beral handling of the matter- Cdns are enraged at all this sanctuary city crap!

And even many LIE-berals are embarrassed and enraged by Trudope handling of the Khadr Krap $10.5 million dollar payout- along with the $37 million dollar payout to 3 Algerian Muslims! Nor has |Trudope endeared himself to long suffering Cdns by telling us that "returning Isis fighters can be a powerful voice in our communities"!

Trudope has shown us exactly what he is- and it AIN"T PRETTY!

Trudope may eke out a precarious position in a minority govt in 2019 but he will be GONE in the not to distant future!

The ONE BRIGHT LIGHT in the federal LIE-beral future is that they will be able to piggyback on the soul searching and full on re-writing of Ontari-owe LIE-beral values and policies!

NOTHING LESS THAN A FULL SCALE REPUDIATION OF ALL CURRENT LIE-BERAL POLICY WILL ENABLE THE PARTY TO SURVIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE NEXT SUCCESSFUL LEADER OF THE LIE-BERAL PARTY WILL BE SOMEBODY WHO IS CURRENTLY A COMPLETE UNKNOWN AND THUS UNTAINTED BY THE CURRENT SINS OF THE PARTY!

Seems you left someone out there, ya lying rat fruit...
;)
not to mention the concept of inflation.

How sad that since ALL LIE-beral policy has been exposed as poisoned and wrong- the quality of their debate has hit a new low as LIE-berals have NO RESPONSE OTHER than name calling!

LIE-berals can no longer defend themselves by quoting from the LIE-beral Red Book of half truths and gross exaggerations!

Here is an article illustrating the madness of our times- which our LIE-beral overlords are supporting and encouraging. With some comments of my own in brackets):

The hypocrisy of fossil fuel protesters

The fossil fuel divestment movement is picking up steam.

Earlier this year, New York City announced it would sell $5 billion worth of investments in fossil fuels within its pension fund.

Quebec’s Laval University became the first Canadian university to commit to divest from fossil fuels in February. While other schools such as the University of British Columbia and the University of Ottawa have mostly rejected fossil fuel divestment pushes from student activists, Dalhousie University’s board of governors in Halifax is reportedly looking at divesting.

In Canada, it’s worthwhile to consider what else we would be divesting from.

Clearly, the feet-on-the-streets divestment movement is a walking contradiction. Activists pile into giant buses and march down streets carrying foam core signs and plastic megaphones. They go home to their heated apartments, take hot showers, microwave some quinoa, spend several hours tweeting the revolution from their iPhones, turn off the lights and get into their warm beds. They could do none of this without oil.

(The mouldy Green mindset is quite divorced from logic and reality! They operate with the mindset of the Pigs from Animal Farm and simply assume they ARE ENTITLED TO HAVE a useful share of whatever resources are available after killing the carbon fueled world! This is the same mindset of college students who borrow huge sums of money to live “independently” of parents while they study- with no real thought of the future consequences of the debts they pile up!)

It should be obvious that hydrocarbons fuel buses, make signs and megaphones, heat apartments, pump and heat water, create and power microwaves, farm and process quinoa, construct and power iPhones, create bedding fabrics and power lights. No quick transition to “solar-powered smartphones for all” is available.

(Oil also fuels all those big 4 wheel drive pick up trucks and atv`s that are so prevalent at pipeline protest camps! The trucks do not just haul people- they haul firewood and food and water and the lumber and roofing materials for those not so temporary shelters for activists! And oil also fuels the gas powered generators that protestors rely on for charging iphones and computers as they communicate to the world or entertain themselves with music and tv!)

But glaring as the hypocrisy might be, let’s be fair. They aren’t going to forgo the gas-guzzling bus until alternative buses fill the streets- or until they can afford a subsidized Tesla.

(The public- including Greens are becoming increasingly aware of the range limitations of electric Toy vehicles and the news that lithium batteries are severely crippled in cold weather is also seeping out! Cdn weather is CLEARLY unsuited to anything near optimum lithium battery operation!)

If they can’t be the change they want to see- like their T-shirts say, they’ll fight for change until it comes, someday. Maybe. Protesters will say we can’t reasonably criticize them for using fossil fuels until accessible alternatives exist.

(But THEY happily criticize US for using fossil fuel!)

Ignoring the foreign money funding much of the anti-Canadian oil advocacy, most activists believe in their cause because it’s the right thing to do.

(Hypocrite activists see no moral distinction between a diesel bus and a sea doo!)

The core is morality: the climate is changing and to salvage the earth you must stop burning fossil fuels. But the moral motivation is there.

(Foreign political influence is pervasive and not at all beneficial to Cdns! If Cdn oil production is curtailed- then it will supply windfall profits to other countries who will continue to produce oil!)

Realistically, the world isn’t going to stop burning fossil fuels — the growing demand comes mostly from other countries, anyway — but if they did, would the outcomes be moral?

Mining in Ontario, oil extraction in Alberta and natural gas in Nova Scotia have bolstered government coffers through endless fees and taxes. These industries provide well-paying jobs and create spinoff sectors, leading Canadians to pay income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes and more.

(Cdn oil is already produced under environmental regulations tougher than most other countries. People have good reason to be annoyed with repeated oil pipeline leaks and the solution is better maintenance which LIE-berals could and SHOULD be pushing for- they do have that power!)

Many of the same people who demand divestment from fossil fuels also want poverty alleviation programs, improved women’s health services and free tuition. As of 2012, Canada’s resource economy contributed about $170 billion to Canada’s GDP every year — about 10% of Canada’s GDP, and a lot of tax dollars.

(All these LIE-berals and Greens seem hell bent on creating the sort of world described in The Hunger Games- with all the LIE-berals ENTITLED to be living large in the capitol! And the rest of us can eat our daily bowl of Dandelion Greens cold because oil is a sin and wood is sacred and not for burning!)

About $17 billion tax dollars are annually spent on Canadian universities and colleges. That’s a large sum that, like affordable energy, needs to come from somewhere.

(There is another major piece of Hog hypocrisy! How they object to tax benefits to other industries yet whine they DON’T GET ENOUGH TAX GRAVY! That $17 billion sounds like a LOT to me- especially considering the number of employees that are involved and the kind of tuition fees kids pay as well! It seems LIE-berals and Hogs assume that if we give up cars- then we will have money free to pay more TAXES TO THEM!)

Let’s envision an end to Canada’s resource economy. Would protesters be content to personally forgo subsidized university, see countless Canadians lose their jobs, and witness a dramatic reduction in health care? Education? Foreign aid? What the frack, guys?

(Activists DO NOT believe there will be such a drop in living standard- they believe in the power of borrowed money! They BELIEVE in the free lunch if only we elect the right gravy grabbing Hogs!)

Activists have every right to protest and we may see more success in the divestment movement. Sure, they might think they mean well, but unless these protesters are also arguing for dramatic fiscal belt-tightening by government, students and families alike, the price to be paid may not be so righteous after all.

(Belt tightening for govt? OH NO! Hogs are DEMANDING hundreds of billions of dollars in pension top ups! Its money LIE-berals and NDPers promised in exchange for votes and its money which we do NOT HAVE! The LIE-beral and Green vision for the future is sounding ever more like the dystopian Panam of the Hunger Games! Hog logic is so twisted that they seriously expect that the LIE-beral carbon crap and trade tax will be used exclusively to let them maintain their carbon rich lifestyle with its plethora of gas guzzling toys!)

Not at all. Even the Debt that HArper was forced to rack up was caused by LIberals in Ottawa.

That really is backwards thinking. Did you not notice that under Chretien the National Debt decreased as a percent of GDP? Next you'll be trying to tell us that the GST was a Liberal idea.
