"Anything to be right eh? Man you're pitifully desperate here."

Alfred E. Neuman, aka SirJosephPorter, aka Sir RupertMurgartroyd never ceases in his desperete attempts to sound real. Failing each and every time.

His futile attempt at humour by calling Sarah Palin 'Joan of Ark' or calling his duly elected Prime Minister the 'Messiah' just goes to show that he is a pathetic, petulant little boy, similar to his God, the perceived Saviour of freeloaders.

"Mayor of a sleepy, postage stamp of a village is hardly a stellar achievement. Similarly, governor of a postage stamp of a state means nothing. Governor of New York, California, Texas etc. would be a different matter."

Obama was a mayor of NOTHING. Truly a stellar achivement.

GWB was twice elected governor of Texas. Twice elected President of U.S.
RWR was twice elected governor of California. Twice elected President of U.S.

Oooooooh ooooooh Y.J. Ron is going to be getting up shortly.:lol::lol:

Couric asked her about foreign policy. How was it relevant that you can see Russia form Alaska? I think Tina Fey parodied it because Joan of Arc said that in response to the question about foreign policy.

If near the end of interview she had mentioned it as a curiosity, that would be one thing. But she did not do that, she brought that into discussion for no reason that I could see.

As to Joan of Arc moniker, live with it.

I can live with it as I'm not the one that it makes look ridiculous.

i see you still haven't come up with an answer to my question. So let me make one last attempt. Exactly which glass ceilings did Joan of Arc break?

Hey, I am not afraid of looking ridiculous. I have looked ridiculous before and no doubt I will look ridiculous again. But referring to Palin as Joan of Arc is not one of those instances.

But I am not afraid to express my opinions. If some think that makes me look ridiculous, too bad.

Where is the fine line between valid opinion and delusional rant?

Who knows, Ron may not show up at all today, it is Sunday. If he doesn’t, I can see all Hell breaking loose in this thread, I can just see the symptoms. Such flare ups usually occur on Sundays. Anyway, I will be logging off shortly, so it doesn’t concern me.

How could Sarah Palin possibly be compared to Joan of Arc? Besides both being women?

I have explained it several times before, let me do so again. Palin evokes similar emotions, similar adulation among her supporters as Joan of Arc did among her supporters. Palin acolytes adulate, worship her, much as acolytes of Joan of Arc worshipped her.

Hence the nickname Joan of arc. The nickname doesn’t really make fun of Palin; she has never claimed to be Godlike, to be anything similar to Joan of arc. The nickname makes fun of her supporters; it parodies their adulation, their worship of her.

In the eyes of her supporters, Plain can do no wrong, same with Joan of Arc. Thus when she badly flubbed the interview with Katie Couric, the interview which was responsible for shooting her negatives into stratosphere, it was all fault of Couric, their idol, their Goddess did nothing wrong.

I think Joan of Arc very appropriately summarizes how Palin acolytes feel about Palin. And seeing that it bothers at least some of her acolytes, the moniker stays.

And you still have not come up with any reasonable argument or fact that Obama was more qualified to be elected President - with absolutely NOTHING in his political background - tha Sarah Palin.

So she has about as much in common with Joan of Arc as she does with Hitler, Stalin, Joseph McCarthy and Brigham Young.

His ability to communicate ideas in an intelligent and comprehensible way.

"She decided to give birth to a developmentally challenged child (I hardly think it was a courageous decision, she was simply following her interpretation of the Bible). How does that tell us if she so a good or bad politician?"

Good bet: If Sarah Palin had decided to abort her developmentally challenged child,
and especially if she had encouraged her daughter to abort her child she would be your hero.

Ron, you decimate my post #473, but you leave #472 intact.

Shame on you, you lost all my respect

Oh for the Love of Pete...

You want to take this Public....that's your choice. This isn't the only Thread on this
Forum, and I can't catch every post on every thread, nor should I have to. Are you
saying that you think I need to edit or remove post #472 from this Thread?

I've yet to receive a reply to the PM I sent you earlier this morning with respect to
the name calling and personal attacks on other members by yourself. You had the
applicable section of the "Terms of Service" sent to you yesterday also.

Are you wanting to be Timed-Out off this Forum? Is that your Goal?
