RE the utter, but not unexpected garbage in post #423.

I do not wear my wedding band - even being married for forty years - because my rheumatic arthritis swells my joints so that it is impossible for me to wear it.

Oh, so Joan of Arc suffers from arthritis, does she?

Secondly, how can a person elected TWICE as a mayor be a FAILURE? How can anyone who has been elected TWICE as Governor be judged as FAILURE?

Mayor of a sleepy, postage stamp of a village is hardly a stellar achievement. Similarly, governor of a postage stamp of a state means nothing. Governor of New York, California, Texas etc. would be a different matter.

How can anyone who has been courageous enough to give birth to a developmentally challenged child be determined to be a FAILURE as a mother?

How can you say that a woman who broke through all the glass ceilings as a failure?

She decided to give birth to a developmentally challenged child (I hardly think it was a courageous decision, she was simply following her interpretation of the Bible). How does that tell us if she so a good or bad politician?

And exactly what glass ceiling did she break though? There have been female mayors before (of towns much bigger than Wasilla), there have been female governors before (of much bigger states than Alaska). There have been female Vice presidential candidate before. Exactly what glass ceiling did she break through, except in the eyes of her acolytes?

This is old gossip from a Thai scandal sheet. Have you got a better source?

Oh, now you question the source, do you? And when you post article upon article here by right wing extremists, right wing hate mongers, you probably expect us to take their word as the Gospel truth?

And anyway, I think that is a good question, where is her wedding ring?

A better question would be how is it any of your business?

the actual quote that the parody is based on:
"They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."

Give her a break, countryboy. She is probably 65 years old by now.

The poor women is definatly having enough of a identity problem with growing old. Why did you even injected her into this topic? You could have used another picture of her if you though she was relevant to topic.

That is the funny part of that Wolf. These whackos have been quoting Tina Fey from SNL with that quote.

Poor things.

Really, EagleSmack? Do you deny that Joan of Arc claimed that she could see Russia from Alaska? And later it turned out she had never been to that spot herself.

Why would she have to go to that spot herself? Do I have to go and stand on the Canada-U.S. boundary to know for sure I can see them from here? That "Joan of Arc" moniker besides being inappropriate is also getting a little boring.

Obama was a mayor of NOTHING. Truly a stellar achivement.

GWB was twice elected governor of Texas. Twice elected President of U.S.
RWR was twice elected governor of California. Twice elected President of U.S.

Couric asked her about foreign policy. How was it relevant that you can see Russia form Alaska? I think Tina Fey parodied it because Joan of Arc said that in response to the question about foreign policy.

If near the end of interview she had mentioned it as a curiosity, that would be one thing. But she did not do that, she brought that into discussion for no reason that I could see.

As to Joan of Arc moniker, live with it.

There is no reason to be abusive, YJ (anyway, I have reported your post).

And we are discussing Joan of Arc, how do GWB or anybody else come into the discussion? Let us stick to what you said here.

You claim that Joan of Arc broke several glass ceilings. To which my question was, exactly which glass ceiling did she break? Obviously you didn’t have any response to it, so you resorted to abuse and changed the subject (by bringing GWB and other republican icons into the discussion).

So again, I ask you, exactly which glass ceiling did Joan of Arc break?
