Believe whatever you want. I have already said I have watched enough of FOX to give me the shytes. So, I guess, you are not going to watch FOX, not that you ever did.
But, in order to avoid labeled a hypocrite, make no comments about it.

And again, don't you know that most TV shows are available on the internet?HOW?? In other posts/threads you bragged about NEVER watching TV.
So most eastern Canadians don't know anything about western Canadians because they get all their news by watching that crap on the CBC.
So, let's not worry about the Americans, let's talk about our own back yard....eh!!
That's just because it suits your prejudices. Personally I find life much more pleasant without blustering ignorant savages like Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck in it.One man's crap is another man's favourite and valid news source.
I found it rather telling that the author chose this example of how the US could change things.
"Perhaps we can learn from Canada’s example of developing its oil, natural gas, uranium and hydropower resources, generating jobs and improving its trade balance."
Maybe they ought to concentrate on something more to the point like having “a well-regulated banking system, which prevented banks from taking excessive risks with depositors’ money and from borrowing based on assets of dubious value,”
CBC on the other hand uses more than $1.1 billion of our tax money to carry out a mandate which it has failed to achieve.
Right now, the economy in Canada is booming. But, not all that long ago, it was booming in the US, and not doing so well in Canada. These things run in cycles, and it will change again.
Please remember that the Liberals when they were in power, minority were going to let the banks go the same way.
Please remember that the Liberals when they were in power, minority were going to let the banks go the same way. Lucky it did not make it. Our own backyard is not so clean as some may think.
Fair enough, Goober........but the fact is that the laws remained on the books and we did avoid the banking catastrophe. Thanks for the history lesson though.
Fox is a private company, it has no government madate, so it can put on all the crap it wants to. It only has to answer to it's privately held shareholders.

Just what IS CBC's mandate? Other than bring Toronto's view to the rest of Canada?
No, you got it right on. That is CBC's mandate alright.Just what IS CBC's mandate? Other than bring Toronto's view to the rest of Canada?
The comparison of Provinces to States is based on a very faulty premise. States are essentially nothing like the Provinces. You have the right to withdraw from the Canadian Confederation, the States can NOT withdraw from the USA (that issue was settled by the US Civil War). The individual states do not have the inherent powers that the Provinces do. The entire structure of government is very different in Canada than it is in the USA.
again.

Like Jack, your extreme right wing bias blinds you to anything left of your position. Although I don't listen to CBC, I know a lot of people who do, so they obviously enjoy a little culture in their lives. Raging against everything you disagree with will only lead to an early grave.Quote from CBC Mandate;
reflect the multicultural and multiracial nature of Canada."1
Hahaha, what idiot came up with this as a mandate ??
