Did Roosevelt admire Stalin during WWII or did he find Stalin to be useful?

Humiliated in the sense of demonstrating Obama's lack of statecraft and credibility. It's unfortunate that the United States has been undermined, but anything that weakens the American left's credibility is useful in the domestic struggle between the American left and right.

When guys like Putin take over, the conservatives don't mind. They like a guy to crack the whip, showeveryone whos' boss, not take any cr@p, etc etc etc. No, when guys like Putin end up in charge its the liberals--the intellectuals, the artists, the journalists--that get lined up and shot.

So I'm not sure I agree with you, since it is the left, not the right, that will fight autocrats.

That is the most idiotic thing I have read on here in a LONG time.

Perhaps you should read a bit of Russian history.........

The only enemies I have are American leftists. They need to go down...no exceptions. Whatever happens outside of the borders of the USA is totally irrelevant.

Read his lips about what is going to become history. He has a (current) habit of saying something and it is implemented within days, rather than NATO being nothing but a mouthpiece for a year or so, no need to get into how it goes from there.

Russianman, welcome to CC. Since CC is a Canadian website and english is used in the forums (the french sub-forums being the exception), I would ask that your future posts be typed in english. Thank you.

I guess we can assume our Russian guest is not Mr. Putin as I don't think he would make us translate such a short post. Would it be worth checking the IP so he is actually posting from Russia rather than the Ukraine or Langley? Perhaps if he was to tell us who feeds him that would resolve that issue.

On with the show, in typical fashion the Vest goes in and destroys the place and then makes the citizens pay for the repairs, not the best way to get the votes, whoops, there is no real vote after that first coup. (reality also says only what the elites need is actually fixed)

http://rt.com/news/154432-coal-miners-strike-ukraine/

Some 80 percent of miners from five coal mines belonging to "Krasnodonugol" enterprise in the city of Krasnodon have not shown up to work. The mines are all owned by one of Ukraine's richest man, Rinat Akhmetov of the mining and metallurgical "Metinvest" corporation.
Angry miners are pressing for wage increases to match region's average pay, better social and living conditions and higher social bonuses. According to the strikers they get between 3,000 ($260) and 6,000 hryvnas ($520), while the average salary in the coal industry in the region is up to 10,000 hryvnas ($860).
Miners are also refusing to pay a 10 percent tax on their salaries, imposed by the post-coup authorities to restore the Maidan square in Kiev. The square and nearby buildings suffered significant damage during months of rallies and the violent standoff that led to a coup in February.
According to local media reports miners have seen around a 10 percent cut in their paychecks to restore the Ukrainian capital.

http://rt.com/news/154320-moscow-troops-withdrawal-ukraine/

Moscow is “surprised” by Kiev’s interpretation of the four-sided Geneva agreement adopted by Russia, Ukraine, the US and the EU on April 17, it added.
Despite the call for disarmament of “all the illegal armed groups” specified by the agreement, Kiev, Washington and a number of European leaders “keep harping on the necessity to ‘hand over weapons’ [referring] only to the Ukrainian citizens defending their rights in southeastern Ukraine.” With that, the Western powers “are turning a blind eye to the ongoing provocative actions of the gunmen of the far-right groups, including that of the so-called Right Sector.”
Such actions, which have been taking place in both the capital, Kiev, and in southeastern Ukrainian cities, “have already led to death of people overnight into April 20,” the ministry said.

The statements voiced by the Ukrainian oligarch and multibillionaire Igor Kolomoysky, picked by the Kiev authorities as the governor of the Dnepropetrovsk Region, “look even more absurd,” the ministry said. Kolomoysky’s deputy Boris Filatov recently announced a $10,000 bounty for each “Russian mercenary” captured and handed over to the Kiev-backed authorities and a $200,000 reward for each regional administration building freed. Filatov also said the servicemen at the Mariupol military base, who on April 16 killed three people and injured 13 more during an attempted storming allegedly inspired by the anti-government activists, have been paid 500,000 hryvnas ($43,000).

Hit a bit close to home, did it?

edit: Actually, I take that back. You are right Colpy. It was completely idiotic. I rescind and apologize, and thank you for calling me on it.

Sorry, all this fawning over Putin was getting under my skin leading to silly partisan rhetoric on my part.

Why is Obama warning Putin? Obama isn't in a position to take any effective action against Russia. Obama is in charge of a country too deeply divided to respond to Putin.

president jarrett told him to act all tough and everything.

:locutus,

Barack Obama has told his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in a tense phone call that Moscow would face further costs for its actions in Ukraine and should use its influence to get separatists in the country to stand down.

If true, Putin should just tell him to mind his own business.

Who do you think called who?

I don't think so. Was he supposed to?

Is there something missing in translation here Ivan?
They aren't as good as Mossad are they?
Really?? using the name Ivan Sonofavitch and 'I flew in on Reeve Allushion Airvawys' doesn't fool anybody who isn't already a bit party-drunk.

Saakashvili chewed his tie in Georgia, you know this story?. Lots of fun! Cheerful were the days. Nothing is missing in translation. I am generally not Ivan, my name is Andrew, will be familiar. I'm from Sevastopol, you know this city?
