Ha ha ha... you, a republican, would rejoice in that!!

It is so understandable, the emotions must have crossed wires, but the SJC muddled it up even further!!. In another forum I read the version line for line and it showed how it got muddled, altered by the SJC.

Irony is that Obama at the time voted against the nomination of this particular Supreme Court Judge.

Poor Loon... a day late and a dollar short.

Excuse me... a day late a a loony short.

Can anyone tell me when the funeral is for making a mistake with the oath. I would like each and everyone that is saying bad things, get up in front of 1-2 million people, in an audience and say things perfectly.

No funeral, just stating facts, to set the record straight 'to' those who
were really enjoying an excuse to jump all over obama, and he wasn't
the one who goofed up, roberts was. Story over.

Yeah it's like tripping over spelling mistakes on a message board.
Economy out of whack, war on two fronts and this is the big concern?

Well that is the Democrats for you.

edit. Referring to the Youtube that Spade posted. The South was strongly Democrat at that time.

The difference between America and a dictatorship is in America the voter is given a choice between two identical parties; in a dictatorship there is no such pretense!

I guess if Lincoln were a Democrat, the South would have been...

If Lincoln was a Democrat the South would have been a Democrat? How so? Lincoln was a Republican and the South was a strong Democrat stronghold. All the way up to the 70's it was. All those southern governors during those days...they were all Democrats.

Dear Cousin EagleSmack,
I guess my ellipsis confused you. I apologize. I will complete it for you.
If Lincoln were a Democrat (Yes, I know he was Republican), the South would have been Republican. It was history, not ideology.

The differences between Obama and Bush are not so much ideological as colour and intelligence .
I know you feel the same but I still have to say it: the colour doesn't matter but I sure am glad the intelligence does. Thank goodness we do not have to listen to anymore of Bush's B.S. "intelligence" anymore. Hope he has a nice long vacation for the rest of his life - away from the White House.

The change in America in 50 years, from apartheid to Obama, cannot be overstated.
YouTube - Pro-Segregation Riots Draw Federal Troops

See this is the thing though. If Obama has become president because he is the better person for the job then yes this video and your statement is truly valid. But if this man is there to take a fall then unfortunately he will have been used in the worst way by the predominantly white establishment to do what they've been doing for ages which is to bring the little guy down. It would be the worst thing that could happen to the black people's collective consiousness and self identity. Just think about it. Only time will tell.

Excellent video. Even if Obama didn't win, I think it still shows how far American society has come.

No it didn't really confuse me... I was merely pointing out that the "apartied" policies of the South were of Democrat origin. It was the "nasty, war mongering, hate filled" Republicans that turned this around... like Ike.

The truly nasty hate filled Democrat Gov. of Arkansas sent in the Arkansas National Guard to keep 9 black HS students out of school and the Republican President sent in the 101st to make sure they got in.

If what you say is true, boy have the Republicans changed! Or are all those former Southern Democrats now calling themselves Republican?

Well the last time I checked... Republican Governors weren't sending the dogs, firemen, police and National Guard at people as of late.

All that nasty stuff... Dems.

And hey... I am no Republican... I've never been or never will be a member of the GOP... but I was a Democrat for years until I became what they called "Unenrolled".

Eagle,
We're American. The silly little part about the speech is so trivial, compared the outburst of American patriotism, enthusiasm, and cohensiveness I felt even through the television screen. Can Canada even produce an event in history that compares with it? 1.9 million people - and no one misbehaved. I seriously doubt it. Remember this. Remember it well. Remember it before you criticize the people of this country.

BTW, when they panned Pennsylvania Ave., I saw a Canadian flag whipping about in the wind. Perhaps it was the Embassy? Just curious. I am very much cued into anything Canadian since I am best of friends to the nicest Canadian in the world.
