Throw the proverbial book at him. Lock him up and melt the goddamn key. But do the same for the Republicans who do the same and worse. Otherwise, forget about it.
They all get crapped on. Some stay and some quit. He quit.

Some get far more pressure imposed on them.

Here in Gopherland, nobody heard when Vitter was involved in his same sex prostitution scandal. That's because the controlled right wing media hushed it up. While the national media has made a huge deal out of Spitzer, the local media is giving only minor coverage.

But they gave no attention at all to Vitter because he is a Republican. Only the Larry Craig matter got attention and that's because it happened here. But every other Republican scandal has been ignored because of media bias.

I think she's pretty, and I don't think I'd have the strength to do what she did, and stand up there beside him like that. The press conference, if I was the wife, would go something like....

"I am deeply sorry for all of the hurt and pain that I have caused this nation, my supporters, and most importantly, my family. Over the course of the next few months I have a lot of work to do in repairing my marriage, my car, my golf clubs, my favorite leather couch, my suits, all of my handmade fishing lures, the dresser I spent three months making with my own two hands, my pool table, my dart board, and all the other things I loved and cared about that my wife is currently home destroying. I am deeply grateful that she has chosen to stay by my side, and is allowing me one meal a day. Her kindness in removing only one of my testicles is, well, more than I ever could have expected. Using a sharp knife instead of the originally planned spoon, goes to show what a deeply compassionate and forgiving person she truly is. While I can't expect the people of this great nation, or you the members of the press, to ever respect or look upon me the same again, I hope you will help respect our family's right to heal in the months that are to follow, because I'm pretty sure she's going to break my knee caps when I get home. Thank you, and again, I am so very sorry. And so very scared."

Dearest Karrie
Should you ever happen to be swayed by my considerable charm, please refrain from proposing marriage......
Should you propose marriage, please be informed in advance that I respectfully decline.....
And Please, may I have a 10 minute head start?
Thank you for your consideration.....

Yours in Terror
Colpy

Colpy, do you think her husband was in a position to decline marriage, given the new set of clubs?

Well in case the issue was not clear the word **** is a noun in use for an organ used for the activity of sex in the female gender which of course I respect with upmost respect when it involves the intent of using it for the creation of another being.

Durka is just being outrageous, Silda is a very attractive and impressive woman, a Harvard Law Grad herself. I thought she handled herself with considerable poise in the circumstances, but she was anything but 'stonefaced' or 'haggard'. Her face showed the the sense of collapse of security and understandings that guided her family life, and her eyes were glistening with pain she glanced at the camera. This whole thing came out of the blue and blindsided her obviously. Eliot was anything but impressive though. He statements where cryptic, showed little real recognition of the betrayal felt by all who trusted him, especially his family.

He could well lose his family, and Kristen, his hooker friend, and her colleagues.. will provide nothing resembling what Silda could.

Kristen, from pictures published from the website, looked every bit the failed entertainer become high priced hooker. She was 22, looked 15 years older and world weary. Barring some type of epiphany she's at the top of her profession now. She'll be cast aside from the 'high class' roster by the time she's 25, will have snorted up her $10K a week earnings on cocaine and high living.. and will be an old, drug addicted and impoverished street hooker in her 30s.

Spitzer brought on all that sh*t on himself. But at least he resigned unlike Republican Vitter who remains in the Senate despite his history of trysts with gay male prostitutes.

It's f*cked up but that's the way it goes --- the continued inconsistant application of standards with Republicans going off scot free while Democrats get punished.

BLAH BLAH BLAH...one of poor Gopher's boys got bagged. A hypocrit who spent his life busting prostitution rings and outing everyone in them as pervs. Tough ain't it?

A note to the women reading this thread. If you don't give your man the things he needs, you too will suffer the fate of Eliot Spitzers wife. This has been a public service announcement.

I do not know if Durka was trying to be funny but there is a lot of truth in this statement. Just as women require and expect things from men, men also expect the same in return. It may not always be in the form of a prostitute but there is always someone out there.

Love and marriage is a two way street.

Did you read my earlier post?

I said throw the book at him.

If you have any integrity at all, why don't you say the same for the dozens of Republicans who have done the same as he did?

Well, guys, take a look only!!;-)

Spitzer sex scandal woman named

Ms Dupre had hoped to launch a singing career in New York

The prostitute at the centre of New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's sex scandal has been named by US media. The woman, named in court papers as Kristen, is Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the New York Times reported.
Ms Dupre, 22, told the Times she did not want "to be thought of as a monster", but gave no comments on her alleged relationship with Mr Spitzer.

The artist formerly known as Kristen has now been identified as Ashley Alexandra Dupre and she is an alleged call girl that took care of Client Number Nine on the night before Valentine's Day. You may have heard of the whole transaction and it didn't really end all that well for the client. But it might for Kristen aka Ashley Alexandra Dupre. Her photos have hit the World Wide Web and she is reportedly ready to do interviews and tell her side of the story.
Ashley Alexandra Dupre Photos Hit (MySpace)
She is likely looking for a bit of publicity as well as she really wants to be a singer and has a tune blaring right now on her MySpace page. She looks a little bit like Lindsay Lohan here and the sound is a little like Britney Spears and isn't terrible, but she'll need some big breaks to get air time on a consistent basis.

***

But what can be better than the publicity she is now getting and will be receiving for the next few days. She has posed in a bikini here and that photo has spread like wildfire all over the World Wide Web. She will likely get numerous offers from men's magazines galore to pose however she wishes.

More photos are leaking out from her MySpace as well and she may be ready to take this publicity to the bank. Reports claim that she is already willing to speak with the nightly syndicated show "Extra". New York media gossip website Jossip puts that price at one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for the interview and that will be leaving her clothes on and just giving a true confessions interview. It all gets very interesting now.

You're the one who always yaps about the republicans who proclaim to be moral and turn around and pull this. Now you have a Dem that does it and you spin to make it a media biased attack. When GOP members do it they DO get treated worse. How can you say that when Barney Frank allows his gay lover to run a prostitution ring out of his apartment, or Gerry Studs gets bagged messing with 16 year old (boys) Capital Building pages and both remained in office. It does not get much worse than that.

If you add Clinton (Clinton Lewinsky) into the mix it certainly appears that Democrats have something on their minds that has to do with something other than the noble sentiments and "values" espoused by their people like a mantra....

Republicans are the same only their interest isn't in screwing for pleasure it's killing people for a dollar....the even more-noble sentiment of Americanism.

Are you on drugs or something? Where the hell do you see any words of mine that allege Spitzer was a victim of media bias? It is a fact that his stupidity was given far more media attention than was given to the Republican culprits. That doesn't mean it wasn't deserved. Only that the same coverage should have been given across the board. As for his fate, I clearly said he brought this on himself. If you had been sober you would have seen it clearly.

As for Barney Frank, it was he who reported his lover's illicit activity and got him convicted! That's why Congress did not reprimand him. And as for the Republicans, they, too, brought it on themselves.

So why don't you demand their resignation and demand impose the same standard on them as it does on Democrats?

One thing more: the Republicans ran their 2000 and 2004 campaigns on the morality issue as you well know. It's time for them to account for their failings.

For Gopher and others.... a sequel to the Spitzer affair:

Why the Bush Administration "Watergated" Eliot Spitzer

The spectacular and highly bizarre release of secret FBI wiretap data to the New York Times exposing the tryst of New York state Governor, Eliot Spitzer, the now-infamous "No.9," with a luxury call-girl, had less to do with the Bush Administration’s pursuit of high moral standards for public servants. Spitzer was likely the target of a White House and Wall Street dirty tricks operation to silence one of its most dangerous and vocal critics of their handling the current financial market crisis.

A useful rule of thumb in evaluating spectacular scandals around prominent public figures is to ask what and who might want to eliminate that person.
In the case of Governor Eliot Spitzer, a Democrat, it is clear that the spectacular "leak" of government FBI wiretap records showing that Spitzer paid a high-cost prostitute $4,300 for what amounted to about an hour’s personal entertainment, was politically motivated.
The press has almost solely focused on the salacious aspects of the affair, not least the hefty fee Spitzer apparently paid. Why the scandal breaks now is the more interesting question.
.......
read article!
.....
Closing paragraph:
In his article Spitzer charged, "Not only did the Bush administration do nothing to protect consumers, it embarked on an aggressive and unprecedented campaign to prevent states from protecting their residents from the very problems to which he federal government was turning a blind eye." Bush, said Spitzer right in the headline, was the "Predator Lenders' Partner in Crime." The President, said Spitzer, was a fugitive from justice. And Spitzer was in Washington to launch a campaign to take on the Bush regime and the biggest financial powers on the planet. Spitzer wrote, "When history tells the story of the sub-prime lending crisis and recounts its devastating effects on the lives of so many innocent homeowners the Bush administration will not be judged favourably."

With that article, some Washington insiders believe, Spitzer signed his own political death warrant.

I'm glad I could add this "censored addition" to this thread!
It shows whoever controls the media clearly has the advantage.
