So much hate over a successful economic story.

Gee, I wonder why.

I live in Nova Scotia and watch the very best furniture wood being chipped and shipped, yes you can find birds eye maple destined for the chippers and then burned. And the province is a lump of coal and natural gas to boot but we musn't use it to heat the province GREEN LIKE PUKE.

100% of BC electricity is green. Big deal. None of it was built without oil.

The Alberta model allows consumers to elect to use 100% wind generated power. They can also elect not to.

Nova Scotia power rates are the highest in the country. They should adopt the same model as Alberta so that their financially challenged citizens don't get screwed over worse than they already are.

Actually that is 100% bull$hit. There is no way to separate the electrons once they are on the grid.

Haven't you heard? There are little elfs that keep track of it.

That is what I call the meter readers that don't come by often enough, thus driving my bill up higher with over-estimates

Well, it's easy to be a green Province when your workforce resides in Alberta. Do you have any idea how many people from Nova Scotia work here (even with the slowdown) and send their money home to NS? Did you even know?

God, what an out of touch idiot you are. It's hilarious.

I paid my last NS power bill in September, $211 for 42 days. SEPTEMBER!!! Plus 12 days!!! I regularly paid a minimum of $360 (two month billing period) in the summer and $980, $1250, $1120 for the six months from November through April. Plus I also paid $1200/year for wood. Yay green energy, my heat and power bills since I moved back to AB aren't even 1/4 of that. Plus I save around $8K in income tax, never mind HST. Yay green energy, farewell to Nova Scotia, It's a nice place to live, if you don't like sun and you love payin', and payin' and more payin'. Oh yeah, you have to like fog and snow and wind, and wind fog, and the dreaded nor'easter.

The URB has approved every rate increase, (maybe not the amount, but a rate increase nevertheless) NSP has applied for every year. Emera, the parent company is guaranteed a 9% ROI since "privatization", and NSP CEO Chris Huskilson, (a former student of a friend of mine) keeps getting hefty raises in remuneration every year. Go figure. Gotta love green energy. Someone is seeing the green, but bluenosers are only seeing red.

They work there because the work NS is seasonal and Harper stopped support for them.

And now they are **** out of luck in Alberta too.

Geez, you're an idiot.

Harper cut off their pogey? Are you so accustomed to bail outs and subsidies in ON that you expect other provinces to get them too? They (subsidies and bail outs) are not the norm, you have simply seen too many.

The people of New Brunswick see that too as well as the rest of the country and its why you keep hearing " why does Ontario get all the help"?

This is why people aren't impressed with Ontario. They suffer while Miss Management makes threats and gets bought.

Go clean the toilet bitch.

Harper was quite diplomatic when he said there was a culture of defeat, (yes, and they still revile him to this day for that, long memories eh?). In fact it is a culture of both dependence and entitlement, I lived there too long and saw its ugliness constantly. Geez, they're still b!tching and moaning over Sunday shopping which only started, what,7 years ago. Welcome to the 20th century.

Michelin only makes tires in the summer? The paper mills only make paper in the summer? The shipyards don't build ships in winter? the universities and hospitals don't work year round?

Geez, you're an of touch Mississauga Nimby. Can't see the rest of the country past the 410 or 401, can yuh? You don't even have the stones to debate a challenge to your cut and paste threads.

They aren't out of luck in Alberta, our slow downs are like your good days in Ontario. That is, without the HST, high hydro bills and the high horse anti pipeline Saudi Oil imports.

Lot's of economic refugees from every province, including Ontario, are still here, and guess what?

Things are starting to get busier already.

During this slow down my company pays me the same take home every week to sit that I made working full time in Ontario.

No E.I. or Welfare, just solid investment in our employees.

That doesn't seem, so out of luck.

You carry on shilling for Prime Minister Airhead.

Airhead.
