For one thing....a simple monetary one....More injuries in accidents cause more insurance pay-outs which increase my insurance rates...
Seems like in that case we should list all the voluntary behaviours that increase insurance pay-outs and criminalise them all.
We do.......For one...If you refuse to wear safety equipment on a construction site you don't get a job. Out of pocket money for you....same as a fines....even more....

Fine point, but, freedoms are things you are free to do. You don't 'do' privacy. Privacy is a right.
Well down here if OSHA is around and find you without safety equipment your company will get fined. True?
I've never heard of OSHA directly fining employees but I am sure they have that clause in there somewhere.
Why simply criminalize them? Lets shoot them on the spot. I mean if we're going to act stupid here lets get real stupid.
WCB here makes everybody cough up and because it's a finable incident, there are piss tests to top it all off.

It doesn't matter where I am... it's a nitpicky point, but when discussing privacy, it's not considered a freedom, it's considered a right. Just a grammatical thing. And the UN's views on basic human rights trumps the US's or even Canada's in my opinion.
