from what I heard of Goodale's talk he made the point that while crime in general is trending down gun crime is trending up. So they have introduced a few small administrative things. I honestly cannot see anyone getting upset about it, but we do live in a Crybaby Land.

I read in the paper that gun crime is way down, and this new legislation is aimed at drumming up support for the Liberals. They needed to do something because they are way down in the polls.

Nothing to worry about. Just Trudeau's people trying to hold on.

Nothing. He's just trying to get people wound up. If you notice, he never provides any supporting evidence. He lies.

Walkout fallout: School districts hit with backlash over political activism

The gun control movement notched a public relations coup with last week’s massive school walkouts, but now school districts that pitched in to ensure the protest’s success are stuck with the rising political and legal fallout.

A week after the March 14 walkout, school officials are grappling with complaints from parents outraged by the specter of their kids engaged in political protesting on school time, as well as reports of criminal mischief committed by teens who treated the event as a get-out-of-class-free card.

Of course the parents are outraged - COMMIES and NAZIs and globalists allways go after the children as pawns.

True, you do tend to cry a lot.

Six murders in a population of over four million for the first 11 weeks? That is probably one of the lowest murder rates in the world. Let's compare that to the state of Washington which is right next door. Even given Washington's higher population of seven million the 216 murders far exceeds that of BC.

So why do we need additional and completely ineffective regulations?

So why do we need additional and completely ineffective regulations?

Right, because a murder rate one quarter that of a neighbouring US state shows how ineffective firearms regulations are.

And now you are confusing communists and fascists, and whining about the democratic right of peaceful protest.

I

Read carefully

You can not ban and collect 300 million guns (or even 8 million AR 15s) from people that will not surrender them.

So, you gotta get real, and the way to protect your kids in school is harden the target. That means access control, and it means armed resistance to those that manage to get in.

I would think this was obvious to anyone capable of linear thought.

I mean, this is the way we protect MONEY, for crying out loud, why why why would we not do at the very minimum the same to protect our children?

Finally - an admission that gun ownership in the US is out of control.

Something is wrong in America and needs fixing.

Hopefully the new generation will be able to fix it.

I wish them luck. They are the ones who are taking the casualties.
American's have had firearms in their homes for over 200 years. It's only been in the last 30 years that they have started to become a serious problem and only since the Obama admin it has gotten ridiculous. Prior to 2008, the US saw 1-2 mass shootings a year on average. By 2014, it had increased to 1 mass shooting every 6-8 weeks.

I'm not blaming it on Obama by the way. There could be any number of reasons. One possible reason I think could be the fact that 25% of the US population is on some kind of mood enhancing prescription medication. But they are also pissing those drugs into the water supply. Municipal water treatment facilities currently do not have the technology to remove these substances from the water mostly because of the cost involved.

So, if 25% of the population is on these types of medications, then a good portion of the rest of population is ingesting them, albeit in minute quantities at a time but it but over time they do add up. And if you don't need them, they can really mess people up.

Oh boy - another money waster ... sigh. When will we learn??
Well many of the gang bangers here in LaLa Land are of the Sikh persuasion, we wouldn’t want to offend his base and propose laws that would throw a wrench in their business model .

So I heard the new measures were a nothingburger.

I'm sure Colpy will still complain.

If you google 'obama big pharma', you may want to rethink that one.

While he may not have started it, he sure as hell did nothing to stop it.

Nobody anywhere else has either.
That 25% of the population on mood enhancing prescription drugs also applies to Canada. I'm not sure what the stats are for Europe but I'm betting it's got to be at least that considering they have access to drugs that haven't been approved over here.
I'm not citing that as the only cause by the way. There's still a huge gap in the violent crime rates per capita between the US and Canada even taking into account the different ways both countries label what is and isn't a violent crime.

Our biggest problem gun wise is stolen handguns from America. It's an even bigger problem for Mexico.
