The Mad POTUS wants to end NATO. This will lead to an existential crisis for the whole Western World including the United States and the one and only benefactor when that happens is Russia.

This is way beyond "sore losers" who don't like his style. This is real and imminent danger and it could translate into actual physical danger to your sorry hide in the decades to come.
Why doesn’t Canada live up to its NATO commitments ?

Because assholes like you do not support the military and insist that it is a priority for our governments. The citizens of Canada are to blame.

I'm not going to ****ing celebrate JACK today. I don't even want to hear about the "rockets red glare" and the "bombs bursting in air." And, OH, the most important part, the ****ING FLAG was still there. Big. ****ing. Deal.

A force for good, my big ass. We are a self-serving, greedy, imperial world bully. That's about the extent of "American Exceptionalism." We're exceptionally good at being ****ers. - Deb Della Piana

CTV is reporting that US "patriotism" is at an all time low. k Perhaps the Americans are realizing the truth about themselves.........or maybe not. Trump has brought out every disgusting wart, of America for the world to see.

Force for the good?? NOT so. A force for themselves ......only. Any "good" has been self motivated.

The IMAGE that Americans believe about themselves is one thing.........the REALITY is quite another. All one has to do is look around the world where it has interfered, or warred .......leaving a grotesque mess behind.

It is a tragedy. Th founding fathers had the right idea. They wanted laws, ethics, standards, and principles of freedom for all without persecution............and yet...PRIDE, GREED SELFISHNESS * inability or lack of desire to accept ALL people as equals. took hold and here we are.

I have an idea. For every dollar Canada loses due to Trump's tariffs let's pull a dollar out of the defence budget and compensate the Canadians who are being victimized. Just because the US massively overspends on its military is no reason for every other nation to follow suit.

Re Trump being "duly elected"

He was elected because Putin wanted him elected - so get over that.

Tear up NATO, tear up NAFTA, tear up the TPP, tear up the Paris Accord, tear up global friendships, tear up the GOP, tear up health care ...

Is this guy capable of creating anything? It sure doesn't look like it. He's a one man wrecking crew.
EXACTLY.

He is one terribly NEGATIVE and DESTRUCTIVE person.......and ENJOYS being that way. Consequences be damned

The more he unravels existing agreements, leaving NO constructive suggestions to replace them or modify them.........the more he seems to get pleasure out of it.. One is yet to hear him come up with an idea of his own........that makes sense. It is like he carries one gigantic chip on his shoulder ......and could care less who and how many get hurt as he throws his weight around.

OH.......and about Hillary. It is a done thing........and yes....... one cannot help but wonder if the US would be in the mess it is in if she had one. Hypothetical thinking. Nothing more.

BTW: The evidence is IN............YES.....Russia interfered in that election........and to an extent no yet released .....and more than had been expected.

Conclusion: Trump did NOT win fairly. But it is what it is.

IF trump was doing a good job there would be no mention of Hilary.......as the US and the world would be moving forward in sensible , efficient , organized way. NOT moving from crisis to crisis. CREATED By Trump . The man that Putin helped get elected. NO one can Honestly say that Trump won "fair and square. He didn't'.

The world just has to deal with it now.

Re Trump being "duly elected"

He was elected because Putin wanted him elected - so get over that.
He not only WANTED him elected.........he HELPED him get elected.

CTV is reporting that the report is in ........verifying that Russia did interfere.........( as stated in previous post )

Apart from the fact that Trump is enamoured with dictators.......... he OWES Putin....... Wait til Putin calls in the chips.

Except when they said in 2006 they would spend 2%.

Reaffirmed in 2014, I personally don't care where the spending limit is set at, but if an agreement is made for 2% of GDP regardless of who is in power one should be making a real effort to achieve it. Even if there wasn't an agreement of any kind, there should be a budget in place to replace aging equipment and keep up to the real world in technology. Skimming off the defense budget for feeding, housing, and spending allowances for refugees really bothers me.

Using Defence spending as a means of distributing goodies to regions that are friendly to the government of the day really bothers me. Not only is the practice fundamentally corrupt, it is inefficient as the best bidder does not necessarily win and we pay more for less because the supplier is in the riding of Minister Such-and-Such.

Get used to it. That practice is older than Canada. And I'm pretty sure the war between Ur and Lagash (generally accounted as the first war in history) was hampered by defense contractors selling defective spear shafts and leather sandals.

To both sides.
