Nathan Cullen harshly criticized Justin to the extent of calling him a liar after scrapping the electoral reform promise! The word "idiot" would be much more appropriate for having made the promise in the first place, not to mention a whole list other gaffes he's pulled off in the past 15 months. Like Father like Son I guess!

Just wait until trudOWE finally announces that he is not going to legalize pot, which was the lie that got him elected. At least this was a good promise to break. Now maybe we can have a rational discussion about electoral reform. One that gives rural areas equal representation.

More like "Like mother, like son".

That is VERY true.

To tell you the truth I think if Pot is legalized, we'll be tripping over a lot of 'land mines'. That's another one he should NEVER have promised.

Working well in Colorado, Washington and Oregon. All about how it is implemented. So we had best wait for the new Conservative government to roll out the legalization.

I'm starting to think he might actually legalize pot in order to make sure the younger generations forget they're angry about him lying about electoral reform.

I appreciate that no one has a good plan going forward in electoral reform yet... but I do not like that he is shutting down the process of discussion about it by flat out saying it won't happen. That is just lazy of him and his gov't

I'm concerned about two things......................driving under the influence AND the fact that doctors have identified it's effect on young adults' brains. It should be kept out of the hands of anyone under the age of 25 according to some medics. That has to be resolved or we'll be ending up with more f**k ups like young Trudeau.

So far the proposed rules that have leaked out are not going to make anyone happy. Except the tax collector and Big Pharma.

Funny how both the Trumpites and the Dippers are mad at Trudeau for dumping this stupid idea. More evidence that they're on the same page.

Rural areas are over represented

Wrong. Rep by pop is a poor system. There needs to be a way of weighted votes by area of ridings so rural people are not subject to poor legislation imposed on they by citiots. In the city one MP or MLA only represents a few square blocks while in Rural areas they represent many communities spread over thousands of sq. miles.

Of course I'm not

I'm sorry you don't understand the difference between equal and effective. You should start a thread and I can explain it to you.
Suffice to say, rural residents have more representation per capita then urban voters.

Why would right be seen as any better than left or Ford better than Chevy or meat any better than vegetable? Opinions are opinions - just some folk think theirs should be imposed on everyone. Funny thing is if there was no difference between anyone, those same wee-minded folk would bitch because there's nothing to bitch about

I'll keep writing this until the message gets received. The committee's report stated that the majority of citizens they were in contact with wanted a form of proportional representation. Trudeau could have adopted the report, handed it to his minister in charge of electoral reform who then could have gone forward with an exploration of exactly which type of PR would be best for Canadians.

Instead, the PM did not get his way and chose like the whiny little coward he is to stop the entire process. This is all on the PM and whether or not you are happy to see electoral reform once more on the dust heap of history - he and he alone bears the responsibility for a complete lack of integrity in this matter.

It wouldnt but to be honest its not that big of a priority. I smoke pot and making it more legal than it is doesnt strike me as something thats really that important...

I agree there are more pressing issues. But there's nothing wrong in having more honest and coherent laws.

the lie barrels have been breaking the pot promise since trudeau
senior

..and why change what got you elected?
its easier to break a promise in the face of an almost non existent electoral threat

trudy and his ideological ilk will be defined by trump for the next so many years
