The answer to this whole riddle is that the real problem has nothing to do with religion.
It has to do with security.

Myself I am just one of the Easterners working for an Eastern Company sucking dollars out of Alberta and the other Western provinces.
As usual we spend well over the average on Christmas for one and throughout the rest of the year as well.
I have not found any difference in a Western Canadian 100.00 dollar Bills than ones from Eastern Canada. But what the hell Eh.

Did you know that Christianity teaches its followers to "not take oaths"? If a Christian immigrant to Canada said they wanted citizenship status but refused to take the citizenship oath because they said it violated their freedom of religion, would you be as accommodating?
That would preclude Christians from serving in elected office, or as peace officers, or quite a few other things.
