Edmonton-big and busy
Calgary-not as big but very busy also
Lethbridge-Nice smaller city, lots of health care work there.
Fort Macmurray-Will be bigger then Lethbridge soon, boom town, very insane right now.

Saskatchewan is also booming.

Try Canmore.... Very cool little town in the mountains with a local healthcare facility.

Just wait for the next chinook.

... But then I have to put my beer in the fridge

Pumps work while you are sitting around with a beer watching the races. Hard to make a shovel work just by watching unless you got a teenager attached. Even then it won't work well.
I have a cordless snow shovel, it always works even when the power is out.

I spent a few years up there on the powerline row's. The road from Nakiska through spray lakes is awesome.
Lots of bunny rabbits in Canmore.
It's slowly turning into another Banff.

A view down the river from in the town:

A short 30 minute walk up the mountain.... Take my word for it, although this is a good pic, it doesn't come close to doing justice.

No doubt... It's getting pretty expensive there these days

All nice areas to be sure.

My personal preference is in the foothills, that's just my thing.

I'm in the pass,Banff before the citifolks moved in.

I think I have stayed in every town south of Camrose and red Deer. That's just Alberta.

I dont even want to mention fort crack.

No such thing as a home when working leases and pipelines.

No one can get charged with murder in Trochu or Elnora because they all have the same DNA,big valley has the creationists and their museum and monarchs just plain full of nutbars.
heh heh!
I have the seats down in my crewcab and a mattress and sleeping bag back there.kick the computer and printer out of the way and it's home.

I've been there... Any time I worked in Fox (f*ckin) Vegas, I never made it into town before all the rooms were snapped-up... Slept in that truck in the passanger seat too many times

My buddys in Wainwright for a few more months and he was also the main renter for our house in Sask.So we moved out last week and i,m not looking forward to hoteling when I go back, mostly because if they dont have a room shes sleeping in the truck for a few days.

At least you get to pocket the sub that way.

Yep, it's quite a life, eh?.... Never a dull moment

Not for everyone and definately not a family oriented life.peeps think it's easy money.after awhile it becomes your life, the peeps at camp become your familly.
same thing in the Arctic, after a few years their the only people you are close with.

when I was managing melidianne camp north of Rankin I would get one driller a week that would come see me in my office and need to go home, they had every kind of excuse but I just saw seperation anxiety and would have them on the first chopper out.

We footed the bill and she was $1500.00 one way to the airport and home for them.

The crowsnest pass where i live is as nice as Banff or Canmore, just no industry unless you want to work in the mines over in B.C.
Health care professionals here travel all over Alberta where needed to work.
Ten years ago I was on a waiting list for a family doctor, now I can go to a walk in clinic and see a doctor in 5 minutes.
