I guess we'll see a ban on rock climbing, racing, cross country and down hill skiing, mountain biking, wind surfing, ice fishing, boating, swimming.

I don't see much demand for banning but there is a push to do it safely. Just like at work.
Loggers that are all about safety at work and complain about every little thing but go cut firewood in shorts, sneakers and a beer or three don't grasp the concept.
It all boils down to letting a little reasonable common sense permeate all aspects our lives doesn't it?

But they do grasp the concept about sh*t disturbing and causing grief for the employer. I worked with a guy like that, refused to work unless it was 100% safe and if it was refused to work for some other reason..............too hot, too cold, too steep, too flat, too difficult, didn't like the asshole he had to work with, etc. etc. etc. etc. :lol:

You can free climb without any form of safety gear.
An accident in either case, has the potential to be equally severe. Actually, I'd say a fall from free climbing v. motorcycle accident, while wearing a beanie helmet, has the greater potential for serious bodily harm.

Not relevent - just the difference between any climb (just over 0 up and around 120 down) and a bike ride (at 60) I figure all a helmet really does is leaves behind an identifiable head.
Me? I preferred the beanie - back in the days I could ride. Nay-sayers can toot their horns for full face all they want. That's their opinion. Some folk don't take the time to experience all that's around them in one of the greatest of opportunities anyhow. I enjoyed full spectrum sound. An eighth-inch of fibreglass and a layer of foam tends to muffle high-frequencies (like the birds)

When I was in Europe with the air force a few years back, they had something called a May bug......same as
a June bug I guess. Those bugs would weigh a couple ounces at least. I used to wonder about meeting one
of those bugs on a motorcycle with your forehead at 60 mph. Probably get your attention....:roll:
