Obviously you do not know what teachers earn and how few hours they work to do that.

I don't know what all teachers earn, no; it varies depending on what type of teacher they are around here.

As for 'how few hours they work'... you've got to be kidding on that, right?

Okay, it's too hot to deal with your stupid today. You don't want to bother reading what I post, just don't reply, kay? Thanks.

Your gibberish still doesn't make sense but whatever, at this point your trolling is making my head hurt.

I'm guessing that you're running late for the pity party... No answer to anything

Max pay in BC is a little over $86000. Not dependent on grade taught but degrees held and years of service. Might be higher this year. ANd no teachers do not put in the hours required to make that kind of money. A tradesperson would have to work in excess of 2000 hrs a year to make that and nowhere near the bennies. Remember teachers only work about 9 months a year.

No, the problem is we HAVE been listening to the self described experts and they are mostly clueless.

Agreed.

The majority of teachers have never really had any other job except part time as students.

Proof please? Cause I call BS on that.

All they did was get a desk that faces the other way. No concept of reality.

And this is why Teachers are tired of teaching; it's not the kids, but fukwits like you who think they know what being a teacher is like and how 'not so bad' it is...

What is taught in school aside from basics must reflect the job market, not what interests some teacher.

And that's BS too. What is taught in schools now isn't what reflects the job market, but what is dictated by the Boards of Education as "should be taught" and the Minister of Education gives the okay. If what you just said was right, kids wouldn't be as effin' clueless coming out of school as they are.

There are no easy answers and it is not a one size fits all subject

Agreed.

but for too long we have let the left ruin our education system,

LOL - the left? No, the left AND the right; you CANNOT pin all this on the left unless you want to say that the left has controlled everything for decades, at all times...

ANd education is a provincial responsibility unfortunately so there is no real continuity.

Agreed.

Ideally a student from Newfoundland should be able to move to BC and be within a couple of days of the same place in the curriculum. Doesn't happen.

As a student in the 80's who went from NB to NFLD then back to NB, yes, this exactly. Which is why I have had issues with Education since I was a pre-teen even. And why teaching and education has always been an interest of mine.

And just recently my niece, who went to school in NB, move to NS, then back to NB, and even THAT was a clusterfuk of a mess to the differences in education requirements.

But this also proves my point this isn't JUST a left issue, but a left/right issue. It's a disdain people have for educators issue. It's a "teachers are babysitters" issue... it's a complicated fuking issue that yes, involves the 'rich' vs 'the poor'.

Is it Karl's School of Marxism and Dictatorship?
Probably no burpees... likely death though.

I'm a trained Marxist. One day I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I'll never know. Then we tried to remove the tusks. They wouldn't budge. Of course in Alabama, the Tuscaloosa.

Were laws and policies in the many American states that made racial discrimination the official, mandatory policies of those states between 1865 and 1968 wrong and harmful to Black people as a group?

Yes, and who made those laws? They were wrong 50+ years ago & are wrong today. Have those same laws not been rescinded because if they have not been, blame the Democrats who brought them into being to begin with. If anyone was racist back then, it was the Democrats. Jim Crow, Segregationists were all brought into being by Democrats.

So if you are still blaming laws that were in practice from 1865 - 1968, then you really do have a problem. I say, grow up and get over it - opportunities are available now-a-days for all. Just pull up your britches and get to work!! That's the amazing thing about living in N. A. - you can do or be anyone you want to be if you apply yourself and work hard. Millions of Blacks & other minorities have been successful. To say otherwise is simply "disingenuous".

All-White state legislatures and the all-White Congress.

They've been overridden by the Civil Rights Acts and a number of court cases. Your blind hatred for one political party bores me. You clearly either don't understand, or choose to remain ignorant of, the histories of the parties, which I have explained on this board.

By the way, the key to my question was whether Jim Crow laws harmed Black people as a group.

You miss the point, probably deliberately. Given our past interactions, there's no point in explaining it to you again.

You can currently google places in the USA not safe for black people especially after dark.

These assbutts really don't get how short historically segregation was, and other racist legally set standards of racism.

Hell the first black kid to cross the grounds into what was whites only schools is still alive.

They act like this is settled...it never has been and the F*ckers here show their racism here all the time.
